Free AWS Certifications

AWS offers a large library of free digital training through AWS Skill Builder and AWS Educate, and a subset of that training leads to AWS Knowledge Badges: free credentials issued through Credly after you pass an assessment, which you can share and which anyone can verify. Those badges are the free AWS certifications on this page. They are not the same as AWS Certifications, the exam-based credentials at foundational, associate and higher levels, which require a paid, proctored exam; nor are they the paid Skill Builder subscription, which unlocks labs and practice exams beyond the free tier. On this site, free certification means a free course with a free, verifiable certificate, which is distinct from a free-to-audit course whose certificate is paid and from paid exam preparation.

Every record here meets that definition. Knowledge Badges cover cloud fundamentals and specific domains such as architecture, serverless, storage, networking and security, so the page suits IT staff moving into cloud roles, developers who deploy on AWS, students building a first cloud profile, and anyone preparing for an AWS Certification exam who wants an interim credential at no cost. Read the badge requirements before starting: the free training is often a set of short courses followed by a separate assessment, some content assumes an AWS account for hands-on practice, and the free tier of Skill Builder does not include the practice exams.
