AWS Cloud Quest: Generative AI Practitioner is the second free role in AWS's game-based Cloud Quest and runs about 10 hours. Its ten free hands-on assignments guide you through real-world AI scenarios with instructional videos, architecture diagrams and knowledge quizzes, using Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q Developer and Amazon SageMaker AI alongside services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, OpenSearch Service, Comprehend, Textract, Transcribe, Translate and Polly. You work with foundation models, build a retrieval-augmented knowledge assistant, develop a secure chat-based assistant and integrate AI services into applications, with an optional tournament mode against other learners.
Completing all assignments earns an official AWS badge shareable through Credly, which AWS's badge page describes as free to earn. The course page lists the role at Fundamental level in the Artificial Intelligence domain with an access tier of Free; the remaining Cloud Quest roles require a Skill Builder subscription and are not listed here.
