The 2026 edition of the Google Analytics Certification validates the ability to go beyond basic setup and pull actionable insights out of Google Analytics. The course has five sections and 38 activities. Four recommended study sections take you from getting started with Google Analytics, through managing data and reading reports, to deeper work with data and reports and using Google Analytics with other tools and data sources; the fifth, required section is the assessment that earns the certification.

Certified users are expected to understand the event-based data model, user hierarchy and privacy controls, move between the Reports, Explore and Advertising workspaces, set up key events, conversions and audiences, reason about attribution and sampling, and connect Analytics with Google Ads and first-party data. Google lists the proficiency level as Intermediate and offers the training material in two languages; no total duration is shown and access is unlimited. Skillshop is available at no cost, foundational certifications are free of charge, and each certification comes with a unique link you can share.
