The Google Ads Search Certification is Skillshop's credential for building and optimising Google Search campaigns. The course page lists eight sections and 20 activities with an average completion time of 3 hours 40 minutes at Intermediate level. The first section is the assessment itself: pass it and the certification is awarded. The remaining seven sections are optional study modules covering getting started with AI-powered Search campaigns, the Google Ads auction, engaging users with AI-powered Search ads, responsive search ads, AI-powered bid strategies, tools to help a business grow, and optimising campaigns for business objectives.

Certified users are expected to translate a marketing vision into a strategy, plan for leads, sales or traffic, and keep the plan within budget, using automated solutions such as Smart Bidding. Skillshop is available at no cost and Google states that foundational certifications remain free of charge; once certified you get a unique shareable link to the certification or badge. Access to the course material is unlimited, so you can study and retake at your own pace.
