Introduction to Kubernetes (LFS158x) is the Linux Foundation's primer on the container orchestration system, offered on edX. It covers the origin of Kubernetes, its architecture, primary components and building blocks; how to set up and access a cluster with Minikube; how to run applications on the cluster and reach them once deployed; and how the Kubernetes community works and how to take part. The page lists basic knowledge of the Linux command line and of container technology such as Docker as prerequisites.
edX marks the course as introductory level and self-paced, estimated at fourteen weeks of two to three hours a week. The audit track is free and gives access to the course material for a limited time, which edX says expires after the estimated course length; graded assignments and the certificate are excluded.
