AEO Fundamentals

AEO Fundamentals is a newer HubSpot Academy certification about answer engine optimisation: earning visibility in AI-powered answer engines as well as traditional search results. The old SEO certification address on HubSpot Academy now redirects to this course. Seven lessons run 2 hours 20 minutes: a welcome, rethinking visibility in the age of answer engines, establishing an AEO foundation, planning content for search and AI visibility, optimising for AI citations, measuring what matters in AEO, and next steps. Teaching is through 19 videos, and the page lists the course as including one certification.

Topics include how search intent has changed, the E-E-A-T framework, keyword research aimed at both rankings and AI citations, optimising page structure for rich results, AI overviews and featured snippets, and measuring with Google Search Console, GA4 and AEO tracking methods. The course and certificate are free: an Academy account costs nothing and the page labels the course a free certification course. HubSpot's knowledge base does not yet list a validity period for this certification.
