Graphic Design Basics for Educators Using Free Software

Built for teachers and youth or social workers rather than aspiring professional designers, this course keeps to free tools throughout. After a one-minute introduction, Part 1 gives a grounding in basic graphic design theory and where designers look for inspiration; Part 2, the bulk of the course at just under an hour, teaches the fundamentals of Canva for social-media graphics and of Photopea, a browser-based image editor, and ties them into a workflow that starts from a moodboard and ends with several ready-to-publish designs.
