JavaScript Certification
- Free
- Certificate included
- Course certificate
The second certification in freeCodeCamp's Full-Stack Developer curriculum and, at 235 blocks, its largest. It teaches core JavaScript in one long chapter: variables and strings, booleans and numbers, functions, arrays, objects and loops, followed by a fundamentals review; then higher-order functions and callbacks, DOM manipulation and events, JavaScript and accessibility, debugging, basic regular expressions, form validation, dates, audio and video events, and further topics including asynchronous and functional programming. Projects are built in along the way — a Markdown-to-HTML converter is one — and five required projects must be completed to qualify for the certification exam, which forms the second chapter.
Teaching is by interactive lessons, workshops, labs, reviews and quizzes in the browser, with your code checked automatically as you go. The course is self-paced and entirely free: there is no paid tier, and freeCodeCamp states that taking the exam is free of charge. Passing the exam lets you claim the JavaScript Certification, which is published at a public, checkable URL on freecodecamp.org.
