Teaching & Learning in the Diverse Classroom is a five-week CornellX course from Cornell's Center for Teaching Innovation, led by Mathew L. Ouellett and Melina Ivanchikova. Built around real stories, reflection and key research, it helps instructors create and sustain inclusive, student-centred learning environments. Participants work through a framework for inclusive course design, reflect on how the social identities of students and teachers play out in the classroom, pick evidence-based pedagogical strategies to try, build confidence in modelling inclusivity and facilitating discussion when unexpected issues surface, and assess their own curriculum and discipline for historical patterns of exclusion and inclusion.
edX lists the course as introductory and self-paced at two to four hours a week, with no prerequisites. The audit track is free while the course run is active and excludes graded work and the certificate; the verified certificate costs $99, the lower of the two CornellX prices. Teaching is in English with English transcripts. The page notes a 2020 POD Network Innovation Award.
