Personal finance
- Free
- No certificate
Personal finance is a ten-unit course in Khan Academy's Life skills section, aimed at people making financial decisions for themselves. After a welcome unit it covers saving and budgeting, with advice for individuals and families, tips for tracking spending, creating a budget, building an emergency fund and cutting monthly bills. The interest and debt unit explains compound interest and the rule of 72 before moving on to credit and loans. Later units cover investments and retirement, income and benefits, housing, car expenses, taxes, paying for college and keeping your information safe.
The lessons are videos and articles rather than graded exercises, so there are no quizzes or unit tests here and no mastery tracking. Like all Khan Academy content it is free with no paid features, and no certificate is offered. No duration is stated; the units stand alone, so you can go straight to the topic you are facing.
