Information Security Certification

A practical introduction to protecting people's information online, in three blocks. The first, Information Security with HelmetJS, has you build a secure web app and learn the fundamentals of hardening a Node and Express application. The second, Python for Penetration Testing, switches language: you build a TCP client, then an Nmap and port scanner in Python, to learn the basics of penetration testing. The third block is the Information Security projects, which must be completed to claim the certification.

The course is self-paced and free, and the certificate is published at a public URL on freecodecamp.org that anyone can verify. freeCodeCamp now lists this course under its archived coursework, stating that the content is not being updated but is still available for learning, and recommends its current curriculum, which does not include a security certification. Because the first block builds on Express, it suits learners who have already covered back-end development.
