A2 English for Developers Certification (Beta)

An English course written for software developers and pitched at the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference. It is built from 105 dialogues, each followed by a quiz, spread over 55 blocks. The first half works on general grammar and usage in a workplace setting: greetings on a first day at the office, introductions in an online team meeting, break-room conversation, describing your workday and routine, your current project, your education and background, hobbies, roles and responsibilities, and preferences. The second half turns to the vocabulary of software development: talking about technology trends, using basic programming vocabulary and code-related terms, helping a coworker troubleshoot on GitHub, reporting progress in weekly stand-up meetings, asking for clarification about code, and documenting and reading code documentation.

The curriculum is interactive, self-paced and free, and freeCodeCamp marks it as Beta. Completing it earns the A2 English for Developers Certification, which, like freeCodeCamp's developer certifications, costs nothing and is published at a public URL on freecodecamp.org. freeCodeCamp describes its language certifications as designed around internationally recognised proficiency levels.
