What you’ll learn

  • Successfully pass the FAA Remote Pilot Written Exam and apply for an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate
  • Successfully renew your FAA Remote Pilot Certificate
  • Be comfortable flying your UAS/Drone for Commercial purposes.

Join the most popular Part 107 test prep course on Udemy today. Best-seller, highest rated, taught by the Number 1 aviation instructor on Udemy. Still not convinced? Go read the reviews. And the course is now updated for the latest 2021 regulation (the only course on Udemy so far). Important if you plan to take your exam after April 6 2021. The FAA is adding new questions and you will be ready with this course.

Don’t settle for just learning the bare minimum when you can learn what will make you proficient and safe.

Between Udemy and Pilot Institute, I have trained over 100,000 students on how to pass the exam with an average score of 93% and a success rate of 99.8%. This method just works. Many of our customers wasted money with cheaper (and sometimes more expensive!) alternatives before finding our course.

This course is a comprehensive class that encompasses everything needed to know to become a proficient Remote Pilot and to pass the FAA written (initial or recurrent) exam. It is NOT an overview course that teaches you how to memorize answers. I do not believe in “just passing the test”. I want you to become an educated drone pilot who can plan and complete safe missions.

I am a Flight Instructor, Remote Pilot, and Airplane Commercial Pilot who has been teaching aviation for almost 20 years. I understand both the manned and unmanned sides of aviation and I want to help bridge the gap between the two. I love teaching, I love sharing my knowledge and helping students. I have taught over 25,000 students to date with this course on various platforms. I constantly update the videos with the most recent content. I included over 15 hours of lectures, split between 200+ easy-to-follow videos organized in 10 chapters.

By the end of this course, here are a few of the things you will be able to

  • identify all types of airspace on an aeronautical chart,

  • understand which airspace requires FAA approval and know how to receive such approval,

  • read aeronautical charts to identify potential hazards,

  • understand the Part 107 regulation in order to fly legally (updated for 2021),

  • read and understand weather reports such as METARs and TAFs,

  • identify traffic patterns at airports to safely plan missions near runways,

  • forecast potentially dangerous weather phenomenon and ensure safe completion of a mission,

  • understand radio communication procedures in order to maintain situational awareness,

  • determine the factors that will affect your drone’s performance,

  • Learn about night operations (new for 2021),

  • successfully pass the initial or recurrent FAA written exam by using knowledge and not rote memory.

The course also contains 350 practice test questions spread over 16 quizzes. You will also be able to practice your knowledge using two (2) initial FAA practice exams. Every chapter references a list of FAA documents that you can download for free online (links included).

★★★★★ Great course!! Right to the point and full of good info. I passed my 107 test 1st time!!! Thank you Greg!

★★★★★ Excellent course! I used it as a review for my FAA UAS Recurrent test and to be able to review weather and other topics when I want to. I took my recurrent test 1 day after I finished this course and I got 100% on the test. So glad that I found this course.

★★★★★ I will be 60 in a couple of weeks. I haven’t taken a “real” exam in many years. Greg’s course was an enormous help to me. His organization of information was perfect. And to be clear, he states in the course that he wants to provide not just the knowledge you need for the exam, but for “real world” experience. But, let me say, not a word of his is wasted.

★★★★★ Instructor is knowledgeable, experienced and passionate. I feel he really cares and wants to see us succeed.

★★★★★ The course is great, unbelievable amount of information and detail. I took the exam a few days after completion and passed with 87%. I highly recommend Greg as an instructor.

★★★★★ I am a retired FAA Instructor /Examiner Air Traffic Controller of 22 years and 8 years USAF, F-16 INS/RNAV Specialist. I taught radar/non-radar and VFR tower operations, designed airspace and approaches. His presentation is professional and complete. You can’t flower this stuff up. It’s sometimes long and painful. No, it’s not for the average person looking to just pass/memorize the exam. You will know this information like a professional pilot. I have never seen so much detailed information relating to current FAA directives and circulars, in any other test preps. This is the course for the serious UAS pilot. I am honored that my UAS Remote Pilot Test Prep for my Part 107 Exam prep was earned from Greg Reverdiau and look forward to other of his FAA related courses.

Who this course is for:

  • Someone with some experience flying UAS/drones looking to become an FAA Remote Pilot.
  • Someone looking to study for the FAA Remote Pilot Written Exam.
  • Someone already licensed and looking to renew their Remote Pilot certificate or learn/refresh their knowledge.
  • Someone already possessing a Part 61 Pilot license will NOT find this course challenging.

I’ve updated my original review. The overall course content was very good. Greg is a natural at teaching various concepts. While I haven’t taken the final exam yet, I’m fairly confident that this course has prepared me for it. The only (minor) complaint I have is that some of the segues, edits, and quizzes seem slapped together as they try to make revisions to keep the course up-to-date. I’m happy they are keeping it up-to-date, but sometimes some of the test questions weren’t covered by the preceding materials, etc. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this course to anyone looking to take remote piloting seriously.

Original review: This course seems to have decent content, but it appears to have lost its organization over time and some of the referenced material is outdated.

For example, the study material video contains links that no longer work, and duplicate call out to FAA-G-8082-22. The Resources folder links to a an AC which was canceled several months ago (https://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/advisory_circulars/index.cfm/go/document.information/documentID/1019962).

Also, in the regulation section, I had to take a test “Quiz 2: Regulation Test Questions – Part 1” and 90% of the questions weren’t covered by the course material yet.

Great course! Easy to follow, the instructor does a great job at teaching complicated information at a digestible level. Knowing what I know know after testing, and passing, I would not take the Part 107 test without taking this course first. I felt like I knew the answers, but more importantly, I feel that I understood the answers. Highly recommended.

Very good course! Passed the FAA test with a 97 thanks to this course. Some recommendations would be to put the quizzes before the question review as they give you the answers to the quiz before you take it! Also, I was confused if the weather depiction charts and SIGWX charts were on the test or not. The concepts were briefly covered but the charts themselves only appeared in the quiz about once. Overall very satisfied, will be coming back to stay current. Thanks Greg!

it is just a lot of new material to absorb. I feel that I am picking it up fairly well as it is presented in a way that makes me feel that you really want me to learn this information.

This is by far the best Part 107 Prep course I have found. I paid more for one of the other ‘popular’ prep courses. While I feel it taught me enough to pass the exam, it came no where close to teaching me the concepts I learned from this course. There are many options out there to help you pass the Part 107 test. But if you want to become a well-rounded and responsible pilot, this is the course for you!

Gregg does a great job of explaining everything. I doubted if I could do this as I find it hard to ingest knowledge. However, I passed with 92% first time. Surprised myself for sure. U CAN DO IT TOO!!!

This course well prepared me for the sUAS exam. I have an aviation background, but was surprised at the information required to know and was thankful I took this course as it has been a few years since reviewing that information. I even learned a few new concepts that my aviation degree didn’t teach. Passed today with a 92%. Thank you Greg and Pilot Institute!

Some of the Regulations Quiz Questions are out of order of the lessons. Otherwise, it’s good.
