Yoga is for Every-Body

Learn the basics of a yoga practice from a 20 year veteran. Claire teaches in short form videos the essential yoga postures that bring you all the way up to building a full and satisfying yoga class.

The course is laid out in an intelligent and sequential manner so your body opens slowly and builds on the pose given prior as well as great detail in each video so you can avoid common alignment mistakes that hinder a yoga practice and can cause injury.

Content Overview

Yoga is incredibly for increasing your range of motion, building strength in the entire body and decreasing common aches and pains, but without proper alignment and direction we may find that we are actually aggravating our pain rather then healing it. Claire has created 20 short detailed tutorials that show you step by step how to enter into the fundamentals poses of yoga and how to gain the most out of them no matter what stage you are in your yoga practice. Through these 20 videos she addresses common misalignment issues and gives you solutions to continue to grow in your yoga practice even if your range of motion is small and you require a lot of strength building work.

The videos build on each other, so if you only get to 2 or 3 in a session you will find that you can stop there and still gain a lot from only 15 or 20 mins of work that day.  Each day you can add another posture and because of the way the postures are listed, you will safely continue to build on the prior session and gain more control over your body and practice.

Once you have completed all of the 20 videos and have spent some time practicing with each one you will be able to move onto the 50 minute beginner flow class.  While the pace picks up here and you will feel you really got a workout you will be move from one pose to the next, knowing where you are in your body and in the practice and confidently make adjustments to suit you. You will also be able to walk into any beginner yoga class with a vast database of knowledge and the awareness of what your body needs and what it is capable of, thereby avoiding injury and progressing much quicker then those who haven’t studied slowly and in depth.

Who this course is for:

  • This course is for anyone who feels they need a step by step guide on how to build to a basic vinyasa flow yoga class first by breaking down the poses step by step and then building up to a beginners flow class. There foundation of the class is standing poses so this course is not suitable for anyone who doesn’t feel they can approach the yoga practice on their feet first.

This is one of the best courses in yoga practice I had come across. Although the title is, “Yoga for absolute beginners” , it is also useful for any practicing people of whatever level.

I gave this course five stars and the reason for this is because it is filled with subtle alignment instructions which comes directly from practice and usually difficult to find elsewhere. I had come across many similar videos from other accomplished great teaches but they seem to present only the advance version of the pose and usually fail to relate to a beginner and give some real clue about how to get there from where we are at present.

For example I always had trouble mastering the forward bending which I had been trying for a long time and wonderd why I cannot seem to get it. This program clearly shows where the flaw is. In fact, it is now clear for me that if we try to master forward bending for example JANURSIRSASANA and PASCHIMOTTANASANA with the sole intention to touch the head down, we are not going to get it no matter how hard we try and how long we try. The reason is that when we rush to do so, we are bound to make the common mistake of bending from the spine instead of bending from the hip and any such attempt futiles our labor because a different set of muscles get engaged that would never progress into the desired goal of deep forward bending. I always wondered why I could not fold deeper into PASCHIMOTTANASANA reaching only with my forefingers and rounded spine whereas I saw people folding deep into the pose and touching wrist with the other hand in the pose.

This is a very good course to build upon a solid practice with the one pose building upon the other and gradually progressing into intermediate and advance levels from there.

Perfect detailed instructions. The very best beginners program I’ve worked with. The audio quality is excellent also. This level of instruction at a studio would cost 10x what I paid.

Claire clearly and simply explained the poses and gave modified versions to help whilst I mastered the posture. I have been to many yoga classes, and this online course has made it easier for me to pause and rewind particular elements I found more difficult, which worked out much better than a class I have attended.

Excellent course. Highly recommend. The instructor is very detailed and takes her time explaining how to enter and exit the poses. I liked that she also gives the Sanskrit name for the poses. You will learn the correct alignment for the most used poses in yoga practice. I wish I could give this course more stars.

The course is just perfect!!! Claire has covered minute details while teaching Asanas. It really helps one to understand the position of body parts during practice in a scientific way. Her instructions were very soft, calm and composed. Excellent course 🙂

I wanted to get comfortable enough to go to a yoga class without feeling out of place. That has been accomplished and I look forward to further developing the practice.

Very good and detailed explanations for a beginner like me, although I think the organization of the videos could be improved.

Seems okay at this point. I was looking for a little yoga history explaining some of the basic principles. What is yoga, how old is the practice, where did it derive from, what does one stand to benefit from it?..stuff like that. Sure this might be something one can find out on their own, but when you spend money on something, you think this kind of stuff would be included.
