First! Wow. I have always wondered what it was like being a VFX supervisor and what that job is all about. The interview portions, animated diagrams and cool and funny clips really made this course valuable and memorable. Thank you for this.

Personally I like the way the course is structured. I actually managed to cram in the sections from preprod to post and thought it was quite informative. Took a while to finish but I am glad I did.

Great course! Gives nice overview of the profession in short simple terms. Actually, I have collected my biggest vocabulary of professional jargon words. Sure, a theory is a theory, nothing will teach you better than actual work on set.
Christopher Janney –
Great info. Having been an on-set sup a few times, I’m taking this course to see what I can do better, and I’ve got some great notes from this course so far.

Ottimo per capire le figure coinvolte in una produzione VFX. Adesso i titoli di coda dei film non hanno più segreti per me 😉

Pretty good course covering the essentials. This course gives a good overview of the responsibilities of a VFX supervisor and also a lot of the industry jargon for those interested in joining the field. A valuable resource for anyone interested in joining the VFX industry.

This course gives you the all the necessary “book learning” along with input from industry professionals (including Vicki Lau herself).
The exercises given with the course are good at giving the students an idea of what is required of a VFX supe and where they probably fall short. However, without additional practice after completing the course, one would probably not be ready to be a VFX supe, unless they have enough experience with VFX production.
EDIT: Since realizing that implementing additional practice would be really difficult to integrate into the course’s content, I have raised my rating from 4.5 stars to 5 stars.

Sound quality and set is subpar, but for the price I’m not complaining really. I need the knowledge after all

The Instructor expresses herself well, clear and engaging, I enjoyed the interviews with those involved in the industry. It appears some aspects of the industry have to be learned on set, hence some of the assignments were difficult for me to complete even though I attempted all of the them, perhaps that’s the point get a green screen and start. . Great job Ms. Lau!
