Having just switched to a Mac after a lifetime of using Windows, this course has definitely helped my transition. It goes through the basics of using the Mac, comparing the features of Mac OSX with the Windows ones, which was helpful. Personally, I would haved liked more info on various things that can be done from the terminal. But a good course, nonetheless.

I am an experienced Windows user who had to learn how to use a Mac from scratch, and like the course says, it’s similar but not without differences. It gave me a lot of tips and provided answers for questions and missing information, and helped me feel more comfortable with Mac OS.

The course did its job. The references to similar tasks in Windows made grasping the Mac procedures, effortless. This is a great teaching approach for those of us who are pros at Windows and don’t want to feel clueless when sitting in front of a Mac.

Very informative history discussion on Windows vs Mac’s in first 3 lectures.
I am/was entirely new to the Mac world and to be honest not all that great in Windows either ; This course helped tremendously in learning about the new (to me) Mac and I learned a lot and certainly am more comfortable sitting in front of it. Taking the course made learning more structured.
I had thought about buying a Mac for years (being heavily into Photoshop and noticing most Pro’s used Mac’s) while I was oftentimes crashing in Windows and they weren’t . However I was afraid of the transition but now I am glad I made it and this course helped tremendously. I noticed other users on forums making the same remarks about being happy they changed to a Mac and would never go back.

This was exactly what I needed to know! An updated version would be nice, but the basics really don’t change much regardless of OS, so this was great. Thanks!

This is a great course!
It is highly relevant in 2018 and it will be so in 2019 as well.
I switched to Mac a few days after using Windows for 25 years and without this course I would be lost and I would probably go back to Windows.

The course was OK, sometimes annoying with trying to convince “Buy mac now!”, “Buy mac now!”, and sometimes boring when he literally just reads the options written there. But in general the course covers all average users needs.

It is ok does the switch from win to mac easyer but way lesser then I expected and leaves many quastions open its only a fast start. Also the compare is not consitant. Some times the teacher gets site tracked in not important details that are the same in windows … some time he skips things to fast.
And I missed the following topics:
empty file space like trash bin managment and levels of delete
secound keyboard
sound settings – BL, speacker, in build etc. swtching and effects
more keyboard short cuts and correct compare to windows
Energy modes performance and the – closing lid problems
The bussiness with multi desktop and multi screen concept is diffrent between mac and windows
Screen shots creating
clock and secound time zone
standard apps like player, paint picture view, editors
A hint for freeware would be nice
file sync option
showing options of log in
big file transfer/copy what is best way …
a small hint to the command line
auto start and shedule
unistall software
file ending dmg = msi and … ?
nothing about plist and reg. at all
File access levels not just sharing
and do to compare to win 7 a little outdated
I think the concept of course is good with the switching between mac and win but it does not cover enough
