The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 at the half way point is that I’m finding it hard to keep up with Lori. She certainly knows what she is doing, but it’s hard to see WHAT she’s doing sometimes. She goes so fast that I have to rewind and watch several times before I understand what she’s done. I wish there were cheat sheets to go along with the videos. I learn better if I can read along with the video. We’ll see how the rest of it goes, and I may re-rate it then.

Excellent course. Very in-depth and thorough. Lori gives exceptional value and goes into real detail, especially of PS brushes. I will certainly be taking a look and her other courses.

This course was created in 2014 so the Photoshop brush engine has changed. Brush Preset is no longer support and Tool Preset for brush is also no longer supported even though there is a way to save often-used brushes to Tool Preset. Despite those drawbacks, the rest of the tutorial still applies. You need to deal with the challenge to find out what are missing features in the your current photoshop version versus what the teacher is demonstrating. The course is so interesting.

Much of the material was dated. In particular when the instructor covered brushes and tool presets, it did not match what I was seeing with Photoshop 2020 CC. It made it very difficult to follow. Also, it seemed like the instructor was no longer active with this course. She covered particular brushes when she was painting the girl with the red hair, but I was a little lost on the different brushes she used. She showed how to upload pictures on Udemy, but it looks like you can’t do that anymore. It would have been great for the instructor to provide critique. Not having direct access to the instructor is frustrating when you have questions. I asked several questions and never got answers. There was some good content that made it worth my time.

What I’ve seen so far is easy to understand but I only just started so I couldn’t give it a full 5 stars yet.

This course is exactly what I was looking for. It’s got detailed information about how to use Photoshop as a painting tool. I really needed the sections on loading, saving, organizing, and creating brushes.

A good match for me… like the teacher… so far so good

Too much time spent on Photoshop basics and not enough time on painting techniques. I am not a Photoshop novice and did not like all the time spent on brushes and tool presets.

Learning lots about PS. My only gripe is it took time to work out what the extensions were on the resources. Some I found were jpg and some were zip. To make it easier for future users, include the extension with the file. Other than that it’s going well.

At last I can understand the brushes and tool preset.

Excellent course with lots of detail. I wish that Lori updated sections such as brushes because the information is dated now and requires looking around on Google for additional information. Similar course I taken on Udemy are frequently updated as programs are updated.
