First part of the course was really awesome. very little react knowledge is enough to cope up with react native and the basics are explained in very simple manner. But the last part referring old verison seems little repeated content. Totally an awesome course. I have development 2 apps while progressing the course and got positive feedback from my colleague for those apps.

This is a good course, and was updated a while back – but even so it is now a little bit dated. The instructor has left notes to help make sure you are able to cope with that and it mostly works out. However there are still a few rough edges and things you’ll have to go into the Q&A for to get answers for , or google your way out of it occaisonally. If your comfortable with React in general this is not a big deal.
However if you are new to React that might be terribly difficult for you.
So given the course has aged a little bit I gave it a 3.5 out of 5. If it were not for that I would definitely be in the 4/4.5 range as its well presents, lots of great material and most of the code works as presented still.

Some fairly important stuff missing from this course:
– Publishing your App (including pitfalls and hurdles to overcome)
– Advanced Styling (Global look and feel, bespoke app background images etc),
– Building your app.
– automated Testing (Jest, Mocha).
– Typescript
– Redux for modern React. The larger app was definitely going beyond the “simple app” that suits Context and Hooks. Redux for the latest versions of React Native is massively important and completely overlooked!
Also, as is common with these courses, the focus on one Big app and a few tiny apps does little to help ingrain knowledge. Far better to have a number of medium size apps that progressively build on the previous knowledge.
That said – this is a reasonable course and does contain a good chunk of knowledge

This course is very well explained. Stephen tells you why changes to the base code are necessary and why we need them. Having said that this course is designed for everyone wanting to enhance their react knowledge. Five stars no doubt about it!
