Online Teacher Training
The Coronavirus has changed the world. Teachers who have spend a lifetime teaching students in the classroom must now learn (quickly!) how to teach students online and in virtual classrooms.
This course is designed for busy, stressed teachers who are battling numerous crises at the moment and don’t have time for a 1-3 day course on online teacher training. This course can be completed in less than one hour!
For anyone used to teaching in front of real students, the prospect of talking in an empty room to a video camera can seem intimidating and even scary. But it doesn’t have to be!
TJ Walker is a teacher who has taught online for more that 20 years. In addition to conducting online teacher training, Walker has conducted online and in-person media training and public speaking workshops for Presidents, Prime Ministers, Nobel Peace Prize winners and network news anchors.
Traditional Teacher Training has not included techniques to help teachers communicate effectively and confidently in front of a video camera. This course fills that gap. If you want to learn all the fundamentals on how to speak with confidence and poise on camera AND to engage your students effectively, then this course is for you.
Teaching online is not harder than teaching in a live classroom, but it it different. The skills needed to excel as an online teacher aren’t difficult, but they aren’t common sense either. TJ Walker will guide you through the process, step-by-step, on how to be equally confident and competent in the online classroom as you are in the real world classroom.
You will never be nervous again in front of a video camera or in front of students you can’t see.
Learning to teach effectively on camera in an online environment is now an unfortunate but necessary ingredient in teacher training. Please enroll today to get your teacher training skills prepared for the current times.

The trainer has given simple but very effective recommendations that are easy to implement and train. His tipps to do not invest in expensive technik but infest in practicing making video of yourself and learn from it are really helpful.

My team and I have been delivering virtual lessons/classes since the start of the academic year. This course has added knowledge on how we can further improve our delivery. I should have enrolled or found this course earlier but nevertheless it’s better late than never.

I was not aware how much the angle of the camera mattered – and I NEVER looked good.. I knew about the light source, voice inflection and slight head movements and a smile when was Q&A time, I know now that I CAN use my hands a bit more whilst getting a point across and about distracting colours and patterns of the dress code. However I am allergic to makeup – and almost every product – including meds lol.. so how do I prevent a shine on my fact – I have so far used a small almost silent fan on me but I know there is still a shine on my nose especially.. So what do I use to eliminate the facial shine whilst being aware that I am allergic to most products?

I like the way of teaching; it’s simple. The titles of videos is obvious and the practical problems is a good way to show what’s good and bad in online teaching. It would be better if the content be enriched by some technical advice like websites and video editing apps or programs.

Thanks for sharing the necessary information needed for online teaching with regard to light camera sound and appearance. I am completely new to this method of teaching.so I am ready to face the camera though I need help in using the tools.

It’s a very good course, although a bit more about how to engage students online and how to manage the class when they go overboard would be nice. Thank you.

Course was great. Just something to be aware as well, when the lecturer wears glasses the shine of the computer screen is also distracting, something to also consider
