Jinenkan Dōjōchō, Adam Mitchell and 5th degree Black Belt, details the methods of training and conditioning for how he teaches Jissen Kobudō, the realistic classical fighting arts of Japan. Mr. Mitchell is a personal student of Lt. Col. (ret.) Fumio Manaka, Kanchō of the International Jinenkan organization.

The goal of this course is to help you develop and continually refine your skills in Taijutsu. Whether you are a student of the Koryū, Jūjutsu, Ninjutsu, Karate, Aikido or any style of art, this course introduce you to new techniques and principles.

All of the video lessons are professionally recorded and edited with high quality narration, multiple angles and slow motion repeats.

In the first sections, you will learn protocol, posture, conditioning, striking basics, blocking basics, kicking and receiving kicks as well as traditional training patterns

In the following sections, you will learn methods of receiving takedowns, evading and countering attacks with break-fall and rolling. The characteristic body movements of taihenjutsu are covered in detail. Students will then be taken through the takedowns and reversal exercises taught at the Jinenkan Dōjō and in the traditional kata we study.

The final sections are centered on using the previous lessons studied on the ground including use of grappling, submission and choking. Never before has this material been presented in such a concise and informative way.

Many of the lessons in the course are from Mr. Mitchell’s Taijutsu Fundamentals DVD set, but there has been added footage that was not included in the DVDs, along with many more video lessons and PDF downloads available only in this course.

Who this course is for:

  • Martial Artists from all backgrounds and skill levels
  • Students of traditional Japanese martial arts
  • Anyone interested in classical Jūjutsu or Ninpō Taijutsu

Extremely well put together and informative for the novice or the long time involved martial artist of any style. Adam is a first class instructor and I am sure he will continue to provide content second to none such as this. Thank you for providing this valuable resource!

A huge course that offers clear explanations and demonstrations of stances, footwork, strikes, blocks, kicks, breakfalls, throws, etc. There are more than 240 videos. They are an encyclopedia of techniques. A person could easily spend years working on the material presented. A minor point, as the techniques are listed by the Japanese name, it would have been helpful to also see the English name (when possible).

Sensei Adam is someone who loves what he does, this is evident in the presentation of the Taijutsu within the course. The ultimate thing is that Adam is not teaching, but practising what he loves and letting us see that.
This is a valuable resource, not only for Jinenkan Dojo members but for Bujinkan, Genbukan or any serious martial artist practising the Koryu
    martial arts of Japan.
I look forward to any further work from Sensei Adam on the various kata from the Ryu in the Jinenkan, be it unarmed or armed with the various weapons within the system.

This course exceeded all of my expectations.

I first started studying & practicing Takamatsu-Den arts in 1993. I learned a lot of great habits from my first teacher, but then moved on to a more formal Bujinkan dojo where I had one bad habit after another ingrained into me until my Taijutsu looked little like what my first teacher (who insisted that we do things properly each & every time) had taught me, which led to more than a few problems. Thanks to other teachers over the years, I’ve trained myself out of many of those bad habits. Adam Mitchell has helped. I first encountered Adam Mitchell’s teaching through a 4 DVD set that he produced, which I purchased from Amazon years ago. Most (if not all) of the content from those 4 DVDs ended up being incorporated into that course, but Sensei Mitchell went above & beyond what was in those DVDs, adding content which I’d never seen before, content which has helped to bring new dimensions to my training.

There are many bad teachers out there peddling poor Taijutsu in learn-at-home courses whose only goal is to separate as much of your money from you as they can while passing their own bad habits on to you (believe me, I’ve bought a few of their courses over the years.) Adam Mitchell is not one of these teachers, in fact, he is the exact opposite: Sensei Mitchell not only emphasizes good habits, he actively discourages bad habits in what he teaches in this course, and he provides so much fine detail which so many neglect, or perhaps never even learned to begin with.

I originally bought this course for a discounted price at Udemy, but knowing what I do about the content, I would have just as willingly paid the regular price for what is presented, because not only is it of the highest quality, the same amount of information conveyed in this course would cost *thousands* of dollars to learn in a dojo. I have recommended this course to every friend or associate with an interest in training in the Takamatsu-Den arts, and I have even used it to help to train my wife & son in the arts at home. I cannot recommend this course enough, or convey the true value of what is taught in it.
