COURSE DESCRIPTION

In most cases, the cause of scoliosis is not known. It develops mostly in children and teens and often runs in families. Females are affected 9 times more often than males.

There are two main types of scoliosis that we cover in the course that can be improved and reduced with treatment and exercise. Unfortunately, there are not many practitioners qualified or even aware that such treatments and exercise programs exist. It is the specific type of exercise program that makes all the difference, and I will be teaching THAT program inside the course.

Good posture allows our body to respond well to stress from simple everyday activities. But when we lose our body alignment, as we do with scoliosis, the stress and strain of simple daily life (sitting, walking, sleeping, and other activities of daily living) lead to muscle tension, pain, weakness, spinal degeneration, and poor health.

In the rehabilitation exercise section of this course, I am going to teach Mirror Image Exercises to help improve body alignment (posture), and THAT will ultimately reduce the pain from scoliosis.

So what’s a mirror image exercise?

Well, if our scoliosis bends us to the left, I’m going to show how to bend to the right. If our scoliosis twists us right, I going to show how to twist left, and all in an effort to improve our body symmetry and ultimately reduce the pain.

This course is for you if you plan on aging gracefully and desperately want to improve your scoliosis appearance and general health.

See you inside the course!

Really enjoyed Dr. Paula Moore’s course. She provided a lot of information and reference material to help live with my back issues. How to stretch, how to breath, how to exercise with a lot of encouragement and a lot of empathy. Thank you Dr. Moore for a great course.

So far it sounds really good and I am so glad I found you! I can’t wait to get to the exercises, but first I need to get some x-rays to know what kind of curvature I have.
Update: I took the x-rays and I have started the exercises. They are very well explained and good to follow. I am very interested to see if this will help ease my pain that I have for the last 30 years.

This course has been a really good place to start to understand my scoliosis and work with it daily. I’m finidng my chiro echoing many things in the course. However this course lets you do it yourself, they are basic once you understand your scoliosis and you dont need to pay big money to have someone show you them. I’ve got more exercises from this course so far than my practitioner

Yay! A scoliosis PT program that I can understand and do at home without a lot of expensive and large equipment….PRICELESS!!

I am an adult living with scoliosis. My 35/20 curves never really bothered me so much, until this past year. I’m an active massage therapist, working with clients five days a week, so you can imagine how much I use my body in my work. As a therapist, I am very much an advocate for self-care. I firmly believe that if you don’t fill your own cup, you cannot help another.

As a result of having misaligned posture, I’ve been experiencing pain from head to toe all year. In January, I blew out my right knee while skiing, and it really affected my hips and my neck; however, I also just had a left bunion surgery, because my left foot was also in so much pain all year. Ultimately, when I couldn’t walk in shoes any longer,
I decided to have the foot surgery; however, I also intuitively knew I needed to address the underlying cause of all of my bodily aches and pains. What did I do? In August, I did a search on Adults with Scoliosis, and the helpers just started to arrive, Dr. Paula Moore included.

From there, I found a local PT who specializes in the Schroth Method of PT for scoliosis and began these exercises, which I found helpful but also very confusing to do on my own. I discovered I can wear a flexible brace for adults to help with pain management….I couldn’t believe it! My spine surgeon had always told me there was not too much I could do to fix my curves.

A couple of weeks after my foot surgery, I was fitted with the Spine Cor brace by a world renown chiropractor, Dr. Gary Deutchman of Scoliosis Systems in New York. I wear the brace about 6-8 hours a day. I was all set to take a two-day course in NYC to learn a Schroth Method routine; however, I had already spent quite a but of money on the Spine Cor brace and was having some difficulty trying to do the Schroth exercises on my own, mostly because I don’t have the right equipment. I did another search and, thankfully, found Dr. Paula Moore’s comprehensive, easy to understand video course, complete with clear, concise instructions and printouts!!

I just started seeing clients again this week and, thanks to wearing the brace, and to doing Paula’s exercises, I can see and feel a difference in the rotation of my spine and in the appearance of my shoulders, breasts and hips, which are coming into alignment and feeling better, too.

Now, with Paula’s help, I was able to clearly visualize how my right thoracic or upper curve affects my lower left or lumbar curve and why I’ve been exacerbating my curves all these years. I have already begun telling others how my life has changed, because of wearing this Spine Cor brace and incorporating these exercises from Paula. I combine what I’ve learned from Paula with the exercises I learned from the Schroth PT woman, and I also hula hoop, which Paula agrees is great for releasing my spine. What I love about Paula is that she’s there for me. She’s answered my questions, and I feel as though she’s truly cheering me on in my efforts to improve my posture. I would recommend this video course to anyone who’s got a curvy spine. Someday I hope to connect with Paula in person, because I, too, am passionate about helping my clients fix their own posture. Keep wiggling, as she says…such simple yet great advice!!

    Thank you, Paula!

Extremely informative with detailed explanations regarding the different types of scoliosis. I like that Dr. Moore encourages her students to review the course material many times and to become experts at doing the exercises correctly, and that she answers questions promptly. Well done, Dr. Paula Moore!

Paula really goes to great lengths to get viewers to understand their scoliosis. I appreciate that! She admits it is difficult to understand, so you don’t feel bad about it being hard. The exercises Paula provides are easy to do – so this program is for anyone at any age. The only reason I did not give a 5 star (and it has more to do with me than the program) is that I did not realize that I would need x-rays done (and not just by anybody, but someone familiar with this type of care). I have yet to have x-rays and am still wondering about my lumbar curve. My thoracic curve is obvious to me, but not the lumbar. All in all, Paula is fantastic! I wish she was local to me because I would schedule an appointment in a heart beat. Looking forward to how I will be feeling in the next few weeks.
