Have completed 5 sections of the course. Bar a a few tiny issues with the first section, the courseware has been easy to follow,
well presented and the inclusion of activities is appreciated. Having been a PowerPoint user for over 30 years, its great to see such a comprehensive and free alternative. Would recommend this to anyone who needs to create presentations. With many businesses relying on online meetings via Zoom, GoToMeeting, Webex etc. this course could not have come at a better time.
Few issues with theb first section
1. Slides has changed since the courseware was made. While this is be expected, for a first time user, a change in the user interface can be a litte disconcerting. Perhaps a note could be added to this effect.
2. When doing exercise for section1 1 – does not say how to exit presentation mode – pressing escape to do so is mentioned in Section 2 – 5 Adding, Deleting and Hiding Slides. Posssibly this could be added to the bottom of the PDF for the first exercise.

Mark’s course is a sure thing! The course is, as usual, well thought out and technically perfect. It’s worth going through it, even if you have some Power Point experience. You can learn about team working, developing a presentation so that it reaches the addressee, preparing slides so that they are not boring (!). Apart from the lectures, there are also proposals of individual exercises. I recommend it with conviction! 🙂

Having used Powerpoint in the past I was interested to see how Google Slides compared and after completing the course and exercises I can say that while not as feature rich as Powerpoint, Slides is a worthy competitor.
