Great course! I’ve taken photography courses before, so some of it was review, but there were also a number of great tips I learned as well!
Nancy Pearson –
This course is very outdated. Using a cell phone and compact camera is not what I signed up for
Rachel Schwartz –

It’s very much a ‘basics’ course although there is some good material.

This was a great course but you need to understand what it is. I was looking for a course to help me understand how photography works and how to take better photos. Early on, he says something about f stops and laughs and says “who knows what those numbers mean.” Well, he does know but this isn’t a course that gets bogged down in the science and technical aspects. The thing is that I was interested in those things so at first I was put off by this comment and the fact that many of the exercises catered to the cheap compact cameras. I realized that this course really was created for people looking to improve their holiday pictures. I enrolled in another udemy course that is more of a heavyweight technical course but I continued on with this one and found that it was quite useful, interesting and entertaining. Bernie is a funny guy and presents the material in an easy manner. So, if you want highly technical material, this may not be the course for you but if you want to learn better composition, depth of field and many other real world situations this course will help you. I needed and wanted both, but this worked very well for me.
Hrvoje Pusic –
Very good explanation of basic Camera operation.

Bernie is an excellent instructor and so interesting to watch and listen too. He delivers his videos out on the field so it’s ‘real world’ and because of this I relate easily to everything being taught.
