I now got the file and have been working with the lessons and using them on my own photos… much better now and feel like I am making progress.

There are still some confusing points, so I hope they will be resolved later in the course.

It was a very good course. I want to post some of my edits, and plan to review sections and try to send up a few. Considering I was coming from no photo editing experience when I started, I now have the confidence to try out some of the techniques and see what happens. It was a fun course, and if you have the software it does its purpose in getting you aware of the tools at your disposal.

As an instructor, it is easy to see that Phil loves his work and he wants to share it with all that are interested. His delivery was fine, and the modules were aptly titled and just the right length. The only improvement that I can think of is possibly some more simple exercises within modules instead of just at the end of a section. There were times that I saw something and thought I understood it. So I went and used one of my own photos and sometimes I got hung up. This was not a problem since I just went back and reviewed the module and tried again. I am also glad that I can review any of the modules when I am ready to try that skill or as a refresher.

The “lab” portions of the class are a bit rushed – I had to go back and forth over the overview of the lab to make sure I could find the options, etc. Not a big concern since you can pause and rewind. Overall I found the class to be helpful and informative.

As are All of Phil Ebiner’s courses, this one was completely clear, consise and accurate with an easygoing presentation that made me feel comfortable right away.

My first contact with PD was from the install disk that came with my Canon EOS7D camera. It had the usual download processor to save all the files stored on my latest 32G card. (more cards to follow. 😉 )

There were about 2-3 “accessory apps” Photo Director 5.0D being one and Power Direct (video editing) being the other. I tried, using the PWI method of learning software. (for PWI reads Play With It!) In so doing, I found a few things that I could work that I learned from the MS photo apps. I got on well enough but I needed more, so I upgraded to PD 7 and started looking for coursework on same.

I looked in may places and searched UDemy and found Phil’s course. I was going to stall, but it came down, so I got it. What a WORLD of differenc it will make!

I’ve already started doing photos of my AMVETS post Golf Tournament and many of the guys want me to do personal photos of themselves, it was that good! I’mdoing another project on a friend’s car and bike and because of what I learned in this course, I can create a much better product than I could have after doing 3-4 shoots!

This course has helped my product in my AMVETS Post website : randolphamvetspost51.org. << ( go have a read on it. 😉 ) I've had some people say how much I've grown in my photography since I first started the site in 2012.

Here’s To you Phil! Hoisting a glass in your name! 😉

I had been somewhat confused and intimidated by the large feature set and extensive specialized modify/correct functions of PhotoDirector. This course has taken me systematically through every major feature, with explanations and demonstrations of the full power of its components. I can now go directly to the appropriate tool to move the elements of my images in a desired direction for the best result.

So far it pushes all the right buttons. Jury’s out until the final address but it’s looking very good to date.

I like the fact that I can rewind lectures which I can’t do in my part time college courses in real life. I have Aspergers Syndrome and ADHD which makes paying attention and socializing very hard for me alot of times in a real class setting I like that with Udemy lecture I can work at my own pace and catch up whenever I can.

I also like the fact that I don’t have to be in a physical class setting learning this with other people as I get very nervous around people in real life and tend to not to be able to concentrate when there is so much noise all around me and people I don’t know.

Updated, I was not informed that I didn’t have the radial tool in my Photo director? I was doing doing one of the lessons and I found out I was missing a radial tool. My instructor had it in the video as he was teaching me but I didn’t have it. I wish he would’ve said something like you may or may not have this tool in your program.

    Good course, thank you, Phil.
PS: Please describe PD Layers himself – not just link to official CyberLink video on youtube. I sure – you can do this better)

This course helped me a lot to understand how to use PD7 and what can be done in PD7. The only trouble I had was that sometimes the screen from the course is slightly different (missing a few features) from my PD7 even though I’m also using PD7. It would be nice to mention some version variations in case some other students may notice a slight difference as I did.

Very clear and easy to understand. Took every aspect step by step and it was straight forward to learn what would be a fairly overwhelming program. Would enjoy taking more courses similar to this!
