course is a little slow. but then I am taking this to refresh my college wok done 20 years back – so not a typical student.
The instructor is very very careful and diligent in teaching small easy to understand bits and gives good responses too. For someone really interested in learning the basics very very strongly this is the best .

It’s decent video at times, but he leaves out some key information at times.
Starting from the very first video of Gaussian Elimination. He says, “We can now use t as a replacement” Doesn’t explain why? Just does it. I’m left searching on google for why he did that. Also, didn’t explain the pattern. Just started doing the problem as if I knew which lines to use. I didn’t know why he picked line 2 or 3 to add or subtract. It wasn’t explained it was just done. Leaves it open for the which one should I do?

If you want to know how to technically solve few basic linear algebra exercises- you may find some use in this course. But it you want to understand what’s linear algebra, a matrix, vectors etc. and why and when it is used, look for something else since this course is extremely shallow. For example: according to this course a vector is: “A bunch of numbers”. I ended up studying it all on Khanacademy.
Also- the teaching aids used in this course are embarrassing. all the course in conducted using paint with a mouse (not even a writing board) and you can hear street noise at the background in most lectures.

Before taking this course , i have gone thorough many other online Linear Algebra tutorials, those were vast and time consuming where some of the topics were not required at all . But this course covers all the mathematical concepts which was only expected for Machine Learning in short and sweet manner .

Pros:
Very straight and concise explanation; it is very helpful for someone who wants to learn linear algebra quickly. It saves a lot of time and efforts. However, the course still does not miss the core of it.
Cons:
The speed of lecture is slow; it is necessary to increase the speed of video.
The quality of presentations is not good; the lecturer writes and draws everything one by one.
Monotonous
It might be a little bit hard for beginners to understand concepts because it is quite abstract.
**** I recommend taking this course with another intuitive course together. That’s the best combo. Anyway, I bought his second linear algebra course as well, and I am satisfied with it.

The instructor does a good job in explaining the topics in lucid manner. Its good for beginners level or as a refresher course. If you are looking for a comprehensive or advanced level linear algebra this is not the course for you. I needed to refresh my college level knowledge for which this course was helpful. I have also enrolled for the part-2 of this course. Looking forward to that as well.
