Here are some of the things you will learn about in this course:

  • Setting up the developer environment

  • Creating a multi project .net core application using the dotnet CLI

  • Creating a client side front-end Angular UI for the store using the Angular CLI

  • Learn how to use the Repository, Unit of Work and specification pattern in .net core

  • Using multiple DbContext as context boundaries

  • Using ASP.NET Identity for login and registration

  • Using the angular modules to create lazy loaded routes.

  • Using Automapper in ASP.NET Core

  • Building a great looking UI using Bootstrap

  • Making reusable form components using Angular Reactive forms

  • Paging, Sorting, Searching and Filtering

  • Using Redis to store the shopping basket

  • Creating orders from the shopping basket

  • Accepting payments via Stripe using the new EU standards for 3D secure

  • Publishing the application to Linux

  • Many more things as well

Tools you need for this course

In this course all the lessons are demonstrated using Visual Studio Code, a free cross platform code editor.   You can of course use any IDE you like and any Operating system you like… as long as it’s Windows, Linux or Mac.

Is this course for you?

This course is very practical, about 90%+ of the lessons will involve you coding along with me on this project.  If you are the type of person who gets the most out of learning by doing, then this course is definitely for you.

Important: If you have never coded before and you want to learn .Net and Angular you would be better starting with my other .Net Core and Angular course before this one.

On this course we will build an example E-commerce store, completely from scratch using the DotNet CLI and the Angular CLI to help us get started.  All you will need to get started is a computer with your favourite operating system, and a passion for learning how to build an application using ASP.NET Core and Angular.

Who this course is for:

  • Beginner and intermediate developers who want to enhance their knowledge of .Net and Angular who have some coding experience
  • Beginner and intermediate developers who wish to learn how to build an e-commerce style of site

The course is very straightforward and it guides you very well but it doesn’t hold you by the hand. It actually makes you develop this e-commerce. Excellent!

It took me over two weeks to complete this course – it is really comprehensive, over 30 hours of material with no fluff.
Instructor demonstrates a lot of valuable patterns and techniques for both on API and client side development.
Explanations are (for the most part) very clear and everything is very well organized.
I even managed to successfully deploy to Digital Ocean (with https certificate).
    I highly recommend this course.

Well Explained course, cover a lot of the “real world” situation, which helps us professionally.

I hope the next angular/.net course Neil can include more advanced topics.

This course is very complete, and the instructor put a lot of effort in developing the application, structuring the contents, etc. This course worths your money. I am not giving 5 stars becasue the course is not perfect :). The Angular sections in general, need more teaching. Several parts of those sections you find yourself copying code without understanding. this is because some Angular concepts are not explained enough for a beginner in Angular. It would improve having some schematics and how things interact. I also would suggest that for new courses the teacher use the strict typescript mode, since using ts without strict mode seems to me counterproductive. I tried to follow the course with it but there are many sentences that are not as magical as without the strict mode. The .NET part is very good, and the course is a good reference for the generic repository pattern with specification pattern but…I think that pattern is overkill. There is debate even about using the repository pattern when using an ORM, which implements in itself a repository pattern already, but is very common practice to use it. This is nothing to do with the course, the instructor wants to teach that pattern and is very good at explaining it. I definitely recommend this course because it is well organized and very complete (backend, frontend, databases (redis, sql), identity, validation, payments, deployment, etc.

This is the most satisfying course I ever had on Udemy. I wish the instructor would make more courses specifically focused on ASP.NET Core +, Blazor, Angular, unit testing, design patterns. If he does then count me in. The instructor is thorough in what he is teaching. I usually don’t even bother giving ratings, but I feel compelled to give 5 stars for this. Compared to others, the instructor went beyond his call of duty.
