Once upon a time you set out to learn Dutch. But every course you find just turns out to be very bland with too many boxes with grammar rules and never-ending vocabulary lists…
Well, guess what… I am a superb teacher of Dutch and I love to entertain. Shake those two up, and you get an interactive course, motivating you to really stick with it and have what you learn stick to you.
My magic? In introducing daily topics and useful expressions, I subtly have you picking up basic grammar rules. Unlike most other language courses, I won’t devote entire chapters to complicated grammar rules, but will instead subtly weave them into the topic.

Leslie makes Dutch looks simpler than English. She makes the learning fun with some interesting conversation.
PS: I think this course has prepared you for A1 and partly A2. You can already start out with B1 (if you see/practice this course a couple of times).

At first I was skeptical. I didn’t think I’d learn a lot or actually be engaged in the course but I did. The instructor pulls you into the characters stories at the beginning of each lesson and slowly by the end of the lesson you can rewatch the story and fully understand what they are saying. At the end of the course itself you no longer have to pause and translate it. It almost has become a 2nd nature to you. her outside help “GetinDutch Quizlet” is a HUUUUGE help. Most of my practices are from there and it helps you tremendously. I actually feel proud of myself for finishing this course and now can have a simple Dutch conversation with my bf and his family!

The course is good. I do not think that the order of the lectures is the best and that in the beginning after the alphabet, it should be learned substitutes (Ik,jij/u…) and then everything else. All in all, a very good course and I learned a lot.

This was the first-ever online course I had ever taken, so I was obviously quite skeptical about it. As someone who has been studying Dutch on his own, I was looking for a course that would help me reinforce my basics while teaching me some things that I might have overlooked while studying by myself. And honestly, it was fairly refreshing to see how efficiently Leslie went about teaching all the basics in a very systematic and logical manner. There were even times when I found myself wondering, “Oh, how and when did I learn that?”.
