Kevin O’Hara has developed and presented to the world an epic narrative concerning the gravest and most insidious of addictions. His multi-level approach to quitting alcohol – highlights and reinforces the kaleidoscope of reasons why an individual must put down the bottle if one perceives themselves to have a problem with alcohol. His structured sections, his reviewing of the past videos, thoughts to hold on to at the end of the current video, give strength and purpose to each and certainly kept this viewer eager for the next. He sees recovery as a step by step experiment, one in which your develop new “individual footprints of patterns of habit.” [Section 7, #86]
Mr. O’Hara draws from a diverse and wide body of knowledge, including his own, to put forth his method on how one can quit and design a new life for one’s self. His capacity to quote numerous notable people, seemingly, from any point in history, impressed me. This was particularly so, because it was done in such a natural way and of course, would pinpoint the current thoughts that were being explored. Mr. O’Hara also relies on visualizations to internalize and create more impact on the ideas he is presenting. One in particular, sank deeply into my heart. This was the opportunity to re-enact the story of Ebeneezer Scrooge, imagining your past, present and future if you continue to drink. Gave me shivers!
I would say that overall, a couple quotes from the last videos may sum up much of the inspiration that Mr. O’Hara hopes others will put into action. “Self-Belief makes everything possible.” Looking at life from a self-determined viewpoint helps to establish keystone habits.”
Personally, I now have 11 days without alcohol and never want to go back to it . I know I will be re-watching these videos in the days ahead, as I am capable of taking them in more deeply and utilizing them in my life as I continue to recover. Thanks, Kevin!

There were just so many insights I got about the nature of the hole I had gradually and seemingly ‘naturally’ dug myself into. Kevin’s engaging expressiveness, clear explanations and wide range of understanding about this web we weave for ourselves removed so many fears and uncertainties from the path out of a morbid habit and into a better choice of life. Personally, he got me thinking about how much drinking had been a way of ‘dealing’ with painful emotions that was not really dealing with them at all, and that in stopping drinking I did not have to have the solution in advance, ready prepared, as to how to deal with them, but that the natural process of our adjusting when ‘out of the comfort zone’ would discover the healthy way to deal with, and indeed grow from, those painful emotions. Thank you, Kevin. Your son Sean should be very proud of his father.
