Who am I to teach you?
Investing in yourself is the most important thing if you want to make a living working with a profession like this. During my 15 years as a professional filmmaker, I’ve invested in online courses, books, talks and workshops. There’s been good ones, but also a lot of bad ones. But the education has really helped me get to where I am today.
Sign up now and don’t wait! If you’re not happy with the course, I’d be more than happy to refund all your money within 30 days. But I hope that doesn’t happen!
See you on the other side!
Who this course is for:
- A beginner, mid level or advanced filmmaker who wants to make a documentary.
- A person who wants to become a professional and make a living on filmmaking.

Actually, I have taken other masterclasses online and have found this one to be exactly what I was looking for in terms of methodology. Some of the other masterclass sites have instructors that teach from a “theoretical” perspective while JVW teaches methods.

Very thoughtfully done. So far the focus is on the art of story telling which is inline with why I am learning & choose this course.

It encourages you to go out and make your film and it gives you a sense of what is happening nowadays in this industry. Still, I think one has to know everything about cinematography and it’s history in order to create something new. Bergman’s films are still there waiting for us to discover them. They made history while the YouTube stuff is buried in the amount of information and no one will remember anything in one week. Let’s rethink what film should really be not consume it like fast food. The public needs to be educated in this way. Really enjoyed it and the talk about gear was very funny. Thank you and hope to meet you at a festival one day. ???

I was inspired by the story and the people who were the focus of the instructor’s film.

It was good to hear about your experience on each scenario and circumstance: the steps you took to take the documentary done.
However there was one thing I wish I could’ve seen was the practicality. It would’ve been great if we could see behind the scene, the camera setting, what you shoot in, the audio set up etc…
I wish to see practical aspect from every process you took to complete a documentary including the distribution.
But interesting stuff.

So far it is perfect for me. I enjoy seeing the story telling aspect throughout the videos even the ones that are just talking about the movie videos made.

When i think about doing research than a teacher should explain what kind of resources can be used, where to do the research, where online and where in the real world, talking to who, asking what ect. I didn’t saw that in this course yet.
