-
How can you learn to see composition around – a very important prerequisite, in order to start taking better photos?

How can composition help you improve your overall understanding of photography?
-
Why is it important to be able to analyse your own photos – as well as the photos you see?
My name is Denis Buchel, I am an experienced photographer and my goal is to help you improve your photography skills. I have been a lecturer in different photography courses, I have spoken about photography on various exhibition openings. What I noticed in people is that they are always interested in how things work, how they really happen on the field. Why, for example there are some photos which are getting more popularity than others. The uniting theme here is composition. Composition is everywhere, it helps you structure one frame, it helps you take advantage of every detail you are surrounded by.
During the course, I’ll be explaining everything with my own photos. You will see that everything is possible, when you master the language of photography composition, of composition rules.
We will start with the basics – what BALANCE is, how to achieve it. From there on we’ll move to the different composition rules – the Rule of Thirds, the Golden Ratio, the Golden Spiral, till we reach the point where we’ll be doing overall composition analysis.
All of the time we will be analyzing photography – a really valuable skill a few people have. And a few photographers speak about, in fact, especially when it comes to analyzing their own photos.
The course is recorded by Vyara Georgieva, that’s why you’ll hear a female voice once you start it.

Debra Chaneski –
Course met its objective of teaching about photographic composition. What I also learned is just how subjective the topic is. In completing all of the exercises I often found my perspectives on composition to be different from the author’s. Not sure if there is a better way to teach such a subjective topic.
Jacob Gilenberg –
very clear and easy to understand
Pierre PAGES –
Learned a tone

Loved the course and detailed explanations as well as the smooth and calm speaker’s voice.
Some remarks from my side are: some parts are a bit long and I did not get any sound on section 6. But overall I am very pleased with the course and I learned a lot – Thank you!
Radu Sablerolle –
Well, the information is good, it goes deep into composition from very basic for every one to understand to very advanced.

This is a fabulous course. There are several important lessons I have learnt about seeing a photo/thinking before shot-making, and photo analysis. All the effort and various examples make for very good learning. I did not give high attention to composition rules earlier but henceforth it will be very different. Thanks Denis.
It would have been a 5 star course but….
A BIG concern is with the transcript done by Vyara, and I mean no offence to the lady. Her commentary is heavily accented, making it very difficult to understand or follow. I turned on subtitles but that was also misled by the poor pronunciation.
This sad state of affairs negatively impacts the learning and the course value. I hope something will be done about it.
