– how to use your flash so that your images look naturally lit instead of that awful “flash” look with overexposed subjects and bright backgrounds
– how you can use white balance to help you take better portraits
You WILL need a flash for this class. If your camera came with a built-in flash, that is sufficient. You are also welcome to use an external flash if you have one
Who this course is for:
- Students who have already completed our Beginner Course (for Canon, Nikon, or General cameras)
- Students who understand and are comfortable manipulating Aperture, Shutter Speed, and Exposure Compensation

Me gustó mucho.

really clear description, fast moving enough to keep it interesting but not too fast that I feel confused or lost. I like the analogies and actual use of photos to show examples.

After taking the basic course for Nikon DSLR and loving it, I definitely was looking forward to taking the Part II of their basics. I was NOT disappointed. The course, exercises, and instructor exceeded all expectations. Additionally, the practical exercises helped clarify and reinforce the material taught. I hope to apply the information in Parts I and II, stop relying on Auto modes, and project my amateur photos to the next level.

The beginning was a little confusing at first, I was not clear on whether to have the lens on auto focus or on manual. I feel I need to watch the ISO one more time, but started to understand better towards the end of the course.

yes, I love the simplicity of the instructor easy to understand now to practice. I did not give a five star as the instructor at times was not looking to the students but off to the side, I found that distracting. The information was easy to grasp for that I give you a 10.

The very last section was very frustrating—the bit about using flash in the dark. But the rest was very accessible and helpful.

I loved the beginner course with JP and learned a lot that really helped to make me more confidant using my camera and picking the right settings for what I wanted. I can already tell I’m going to have a similar result with this course.

The first class showed photos of different aperture settings and shutter speeds and had the student take a photo and comparing the results with his photos. In this class there are not enough example photos to compare with the ones I took. Also prefer JP’s presentation skills.

Concepts were a little more complex during this but it is an intermediate course. I thought that they were explained well and the example photos were well chosen. She thoroughly explained each concept, which was very nice. The only difficulty I had was trying to figure out how to get to the flash exposure compensation feature. Thank y’all for this awesome course.

Loving this training. After the first class, this is really helping me to understand ISO.

I like the lady giving the lecture. She is well-spoken, clear and informative in a non condisending or intimidating manner (in which I have noticed some photographers are). I am taking the course specifically to learn about lighting so it is a little begginerish for me so far but I still learned a couple of things in the first section about ISO.

I finished the course but it does not show that i finished . So please correct that problem. Was not able to get my certificate.
