Autonomous Driving is getting its fame very fast across the world and lot of companies are investing huge money to reach the goal. As a result, there is high demand of Skilled people especially Engineers in this field. But as the field itself is quite complex and challenging, it demands multiple skills from one person.
Sensors are very important non-separable part in the Autonomous driving and knowledge of them is very important for everyone working in this field. Depending on the use, either basic knowledge or deep knowledge is necessary. Among the sensors, Camera, Radar, Lidar and Ultrasonic sensors are prominent for environment perception. There are lot of online resources available for Camera and computer vision, Lidar is still in development and even though Radar Technology is very mature in Automotive Sector and also having very wide scope of further research, very limited resources are available for beginners and for experience people at one location. Keeping this in mind, this course is created to provide basic and deep knowledge of Radar Technology with main focus in ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and AD (Autonomous Driving) applications.
This course will help to:
-
Understand ADAS and AD and the importance of various sensors in the field
-
How both ADAS and AD are connected to each other
-
Why Radar Technology is so important and how it works in this field
-
All about Automotive Radar – including Hardware components, basic and advance Signal processing and data processing
-
About FFT, Range, Doppler, Angle, RCS Measurements, RD map generation, Radar Detections, etc.
-
Briefly about Clustering, feature extractions, object formation, Single Object Tracking, Multi Object Tracking, etc.
Who this course is for:
- Anyone who is Interested in Driver Assistance systems and /or Autonomous Driving Technology
- Students, Engineers, Researchers working in ADAS / AD Perception / Sensor Fusion
- From beginner to experience people, who wants to build industry oriented knowledge in Automotive Radar Sensor Technology

I liked the way of teaching & covering all the topics in from basic to advance, i would like to expect some simulation results & codes related to detection algorithm. I would like to thank you for putting your effort in making this video.

The course gives good explanation about the concepts.
The trainer is very supportive and replies to Q&A promptly.
Some suggestion for improvements:
1. Try to use different color ink when you are explaining any concept. Using same red color in one diagram confuses the content.
2. Many people have suggested to have some source code to explain the. I believe you will provide them soon.
Looking forward for your other courses 🙂

Very nice and concise introductory level course. At the same time, in most of the cases the radar is given as an off-the-shelf product, and the developer is usually required to perform radar data processing. So, it could be nice if the section dealing with radar data processing was not so short. The references list at the end of the course is very helpful.

It is a good start for me with this course as I did not have any background about Automotive RADAR. Thank you very much to Mr. Suchit for making such a wonderful course..
Alisha Narange –
more formula related practical implementation

Well done, Suchit. You are an amazing instructor. Specially, it is almost not possible to find such a good course in this field. Best udemy course I have every had so far. Looking forward to your next course “ADAS”.

Content was really nice and informative. It would have been better if you had provided some more mathematical backgrounds of using FFT. Like why we should use FFT to determine Range, Velocity and angle, why not anything else? Or, after doing FFT how would the output matrix/data array look like.. Anyways. Thank you and i apricate the content and your hard work for the brief introduction of the topic
