Im not giving 5 stars because the lectures kept getting interrupted every 5 minutes with code samples that i could not immediately click past to get the checkmark on the code sample. It would have been better if all the code samples were presented at the end of all the lectures at once or in a resources section instead of interrupting the lectures every couple minutes. The information was complete and good, though.

The teacher managed to break down the highly complex topic of SQL tuning into (many) small and easily digestable pieces. As a DBA it is not my primary job to tune SQL but I am faced so many times with question about slow performing queries and this course helped me a lot in answering them. I really enjoyed the last few months while working through the course and the teacher’s favorite phrase: “this will improve the performance so much”, is burned in my brain for ever 😀
However, while the course does an excellent job of explaining how to tune a particular query, I wished that there would be a chapter about how to find badly performing queries in the first place by analyzing AWR and v$active_session_history. This is completely left out out but if you know which query is performing badly, you will be able to make it better with this course. Highly recommended!
