Are you interested in learning about ‘Acceptance and Commitment Therapy’?
Perhaps you have heard that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a very effective tool for treating depression, anxiety, and many other psychological disorders. Did you know that ACT is also a great tool for managing our own thoughts and behaviours, improving our emotions and moods on daily basis?
In this course you will take 34 informative lectures taught by UK Research Psychologist and international lecturer on Psychology & Counselling – Elmira Strange, MPhil. In this course you will find out about many interesting ACT aspects (such as ‘Acceptance’ and ‘Identifying Your Values’) that you will be able to use for yourself and when working with other people.
In this course you will learn for example, what ‘Psychological Flexibility’ is and why you have to develop this skill if you want to feel more satisfied with your life. You will also learn how to practice ‘Mindfulness’ and ‘Acceptance’ in your daily life so that your cognitive state became more balanced over time. You will also find out why ‘chasing happiness’ is not such a good idea after all and what you can do about it.
You will also understand how to use ‘metaphors’ for managing your own thoughts and emotions so that you could regain control of what you think and how you feel on daily basis.
At the end of the course you will have access to 2 BONUS Lectures: “Stress & Anxiety Management” and “Psychology of Alcohol and Drug Addictions”
P.S. This course is now fully accredited by the IAOTH – International Association of Therapists!

I enjoyed this course! I was eager to know and understand the foundations of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy in order to use ACT in my own life and to later integrate into my coaching practice. I learned a lot about ACT and developed an solid understanding of it through the course. Plus, I came away with many easy and practical ways to use and practice ACT principles, tools, and techniques. Elvira’s teaching style drew me in and made it easy for me to keep coming back, lecture after lecture, until I was done.

The sources referenced seemed to be google searches rather than academic or research articles.

Learning about acceptance, psychological flexixbility and doing the homework that was recommended helped me understand a lot about my own thought and behavior patterns in life. I definitely would use the exercises and metaphors explained in the lectures with my own clients in therapy.

Yes, the explanations were really good, along with examples. Section 7 on ACT in Practice was especially helpful for me to apply in therapy.

As always the content is above and beyond. Exceptional and easy to understand but solid.

Quite useful! Every therapist should have ACT skills as an alternative to well-known CBT approach. New perspectives = new solutions!

Thank you! It is interesting for me to understand the difference between values and basic needs of the human being.. It seems to me, values are built on the ground of needs, especially when some needs were not met at childhood and “want to be met” at last. So our choice of values is predictable by those needs (it seems like hunger), though we can choose what actions to do according to values. Maybe I’m wrong..
