I’ve taken many computer courses on Udemy and elsewhere.
This is the best course that I have taken. The instructor knows Python and Pandas and their uses in data analysis. More importantly he knows how to teach. His explanations are clear and appropriately detailed. He summarizes each section succinctly to ensure that the student has learned the material. He moves sequentially — each step supporting the following steps. He is selective — making sure that the most important concepts are presented, while giving the student the tools to seek out other less frequently used concepts after the course is complete.
He just authored a new book, entitled “Pandas in Action” (released September 28, 2021), which I bought “site unseen” given the quality of this course.
Put in the time. It will pay off.

Boris does a really excellent job of making this course engaging and enjoyable. The course moved at the perfect pace and covered a ton without belabouring any point.
My only criticism is for the lack of challenges. There were a couple of quizes, but in my experience a quick ‘take everything we’ve learned so far and try to do THIS, as a bonus see if you can figure out this too’ works wonders in solidifying that knowledge.
That said, this is a great course – if you’re looking to learn pandas I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

A very, very good course. For me, nothing less than 5 star will be a fair scoring. Boris really explains a lot! From a simple variable assignment syntax, to why Timedeltas only includes days (and not years); through all the coding process he explains everything. I have obtained many thoughtful intuition from the course that I could not get from other sources.
What I like from the video, Boris never tries to show off his coding skills with flashy syntax command. He starts everything from the most simple and basics, then gradually showing what can we do differently with combination of parameter, lists, inplace, and so on. I really appreciate how he design the curricula from basics and gradually improve. What we need to understand for the next section has been provided by previous section. Only in rare occurrence, and Boris will give a friendly warning, we are using syntax/parameter that we have not learned yet and will be explained soon by the next session.
I rarely need to think during the course; just look at the dynamic typing, following in my notebook, and listening a long. The explanation will come itself. He made the coding experience broken down to simpler piece and less scary (I really trust him now that he wants a course he wish he had when he was starting out).
I really hope student from non-programming background (as myself) who is looking for a guide to understand pandas find this course helpful. I hope more people rates this course highly so it appears as “highly rated” in Udemy. Boris has helped us a lot with his instructional lectures (with a friendly pricing!). It is our turn to help other student getting similar joyful experience.

In general a very good course.
I missed some work with databases which is very common on data analisys.
I also missed some statistical analysis like correlation `corr()` in a dataframe which would look very good on plots. Or using rolling windows, which is something I came across many times.
To be fair, I did this course to settle my knowledge of Pandas, but I already knew the majority of the stuff, and maybe I am proposing more complex tasks.
Congratulations on the course and I hope you create an advance version of the course.

It is a good course. The instructor is clear. I know no single course can do everything. Still, my suggestion would be:
1. spend less time on showing multiple ways of doing the same thing
2. provide more practice exercises
3. update the course – there were several things that did not work as described in the course due to changes in pandas – not all of them were addressed in the notes
4. provide an index or some other way to find material in the course; there were several times when I wanted to look up something that was covered earlier and had a hard time finding it

One of the best tutorial for Pandas in Udemy, the lessons are explained in a very clear way, most importantly the MultiIndex, Pivot and other Transformations. Pros – Great Content Cons – Some advanced functions like apply,map, asof() etc should be included. Other resources availiable are not beginer firendly, so It will be great if the instructor includes them in future. Finally as others are also requesting : A live case study project. please add this to solidify the understandings.
