  • How to improve and extend dynamic range in your images
  • The best way to take advantage of camera’s overexposure warning feature
  • Leveraging your camera’s Auto Bracketing feature
  • How to take a properly exposed sequence of digital images for an HDR merge

Capturing extremely light and dark areas in a single image for eye-grabbing results is nearly impossible… unless you know advanced shooting and editing techniques to illuminate otherwise obscured details. This hands-on, comprehensive course requires no former knowledge of HDR to create breathtaking representations of even the most demanding scenes. You’ll quickly get a grasp of the complete process, beginning with the camera’s settings through to capturing the HDR sequence, merging and developing the image. You’ll also learn how to take full advantage of the data stored in the RAW files to produce scenes containing vast luminosity range and strong contrast.

Liked how structured the course was. The part about camera metering ended a bit abrupt but was still educational. Overall, I think the course was a little too long.

    1. The course covers the techniques of HDR production I was looking: how to do it all in manual mode, how to spot for highlights/shadows to get the low and high exposure, then how to get the half-way exposure and finally shoot in AEB. The shutter speed values print-out actually turned out very handy, I’ve prepared my own version 🙂
    2. The explanations are step-by-step, very practical and easy to apply when you take your DSLR and practice your first shots for HDR conversion.
    3. You’ll also learn how to use software to merge images and it really isn’t complicated. By the way, I’d like to thanks Kasia for negotiating with HDRsoft a huge discount on Photomatix Pro for the participants of this course. I’ve got my license for 25$ instead of 100$ (I sent the certificated of this course and a screenshot of the receipt at support@hdrsoft.com and got my discount code).

I loved this HDR Workflow course due to it being taught more like a college-level course that I would expect at a university. Other courses on Udemy are not like this.
