stuff such as the Exposure Triangle, which is quite difficult to
understand. Here, we get into the aesthetic and the artistic – things anyone with a camera can comprehend.
The rules of composition apply mostly in the landscape genre, but many are applicable in portraiture and in other genres too.

David Bowman –
Very basic instruction on the surface topics of photographic composition. The lessons are very brief and, although they are easy to understand, they don’t go into any depth on any topic.

The course is well made. It does a decent job of explaining the basic concepts of composition with clear examples. The course is easy to get through, though as the instructor says, it is more valuable to slow down and practice each concept than to just fly through the whole course. I have not tried the ebook yet, but plan on re-watching the lesson videos and practice the lessons.
Gene Tolan –
Nice and precise. Straight to the point with a very insightful teacher. Highly recommend.

The composition is the most important tools in photography. I very like to learn “The Art of Composition” like the in-depth explanations as examples.
Martie Anderson –
Ray is funny and makes class fun. I would have liked to see more visuals in the class of technique he was teaching. But the you tube channel he has in resources is a good addition and he explains more.
Yigal Scholnok –
the course was good although I could not understand where sre the pdf file and links you point out “on the right”
Vickie Parfitt –
Totally enjoyed the course and the instructor. I used the course for continuing education. (I teach High School Digital Photography). I’m forever a student and love gleaming new concepts from the pros. Thank you!

John Fisher –
This was a very good, well explained course. Obviously it only covered the basics but it allows for clear hands on with ample opportunity for people to grow and learn more. For the person with some knowledge already, it was a good lesson in getting back to basics to reinforce what had previously been learnt or to develop a skill that may have been lacking before. Ray is enthusiastic and engaging.
Larry Schneider –
I enjoyed this course and learned from it. I would have given it a higher rating if there were more contrasting examples. There were many, but not as many as I had hoped. I learn through seeing a picture, and then seeing the picture taken or processed in a better way.

Although short, the course is very informative even for non-beginners. The free PDF resources are very interesting and discuss even further the main aspects presented during the course.
