  • a PID controller to a simple magnetic train that needs to catch objects that randomly fall from the sky

  • a Model Predictive Controller (MPC) to an autonomous car in a simple lane changing maneuver on a straight road at a constant forward speed.

You will LEARN the fundamentals and the logic of Modelling, PID and MPC that will allow you to apply it to other systems you might encounter in the future.

    I went straight to the car modeling and MPC classes. I’ve already studied signals and systems theory, classical control theory/PID and Digital/Modern Control and it helped me to understand the logic behind the MPC algorithm, but a lot of that is thanks to Mark! He made it look easy. He explains everything he puts on the board, he never misses! Everything is on point.     So far so good. However, I have suggestion. I think it will be better to make a video of you coding the algorithms from scratch and explaining as you do so, rather than coding and explaining afterwards. I think this is better to build intuition and much more productive for learning the coding side of things. It also takes us into the mind of a controls engineer and what we have to be thinking about while coding our models in the future, again which is better for intuition.
