How Will I learn it?
Photography is not as complex as some make out. It’s a bit of knowledge and a lot of practise – which is great news because you already love taking pictures…
First you’ll master the 3 exposure controls so you’ll know what they do, why they do it and be able to choose which settings to use. Exposure is not rocket science. It’s just 3 controls and if you can get online and enrol on a course you can easily master 3 camera settings.
Exposure settings have creative superpowers too and the next step is learning what they are and how to choose settings for creative reasons. Every photo you take is your photo and Masterclass will put you in control of how you want it to look.
Manual mode is pretty simple TBH, and it’s vital because cameras can’t think for themselves and sometimes get it wrong. Ever taken a photo of bright snow or a white sand beach in sunshine? Did it come out dark and dull looking? – That’s what I mean.
Once you’ve mastered manual exposure, know why cameras get it wrong and what to do about it, you can effectively use auto / semi auto if you like. It’s just another way to achieve the same result. You’ll learn how to control these modes – even though they have the word ‘auto’ in the name.
Next you’ll learn how to be creative. How to ‘see’ and find photos, composition, lighting, how to add mood and feeling to a photo, give it meaning and be more than just a pretty picture.
In the majority of lessons you will see actual settings, composition etc live in the camera’s viewfinder as techniques are explained and demonstrated in both home and real life on-location environments.
Which Camera Do I Need For This Course?
This photography course is designed for cameras that have settings. DSLR, Mirrorless and Bridge cameras. Though there are benefits for compact camera and phone photographers, it is not designed for these.
Cameras don’t take pictures – you use a camera to make pictures, in the same way a musician plays an instrument or an artists uses a brush.
The camera is your instrument. First you learn how to play it, then how to make beautiful music with it – and there are only five controls you need to do that.
Great photographers of the past took stunning photos on the most basic of cameras with only three controls. They understood the creative relationship between settings, composition and light – the bedrock upon which great photos are built. If they could do it with their clunky old cameras, there’s no reason why you can’t too.
Commit to this course and 28 days from now your frustrations will have melted away, because you my friend, will be camera competent, feeling confident and looking at your world like a photographer.
If you don’t agree I’ll give you your money back no quibbles. Far enough?
Mike

I have been using film cameras for many years especially medium format cameras, and thought “I know about photography, how the cameras work, composition etc etc, manually developing and all that”, so why buy this course? I had read many books on photography but to be honest they were still, bland and a flat way of learning. So when I watched the preview video of this course, something made me buy it. And wow, am I glad I did. Being able to see through the camera and the different views of the same subject was just invigorating. Also the way Mike teaches is to take you along to the shoot and explain everything as though it were a one to one teaching. This course is excellent and well put together. Every lesson flows from the first to the last. The way I will be using my long lenses is going to change now. Before, they were just to make far objects closer but now I have a new way of using them thanks to part of this course. Well worth every penny and even more. Thanks Mike.

Typically, I don’t leave comments but this course was exceptional. Mike Browne made this course easy to follow with excellent examples that demonstrated the material he was teaching. Each of his lessons opened the world of photography up for me and made me eager to grab my camera and use the information I learned to take better, more impressive photos. Mike Browne is a great teacher and I hope I will be able to take more of his courses in the future.

Mike, thank you so much for this Masterclass.
I recently upgraded to a DSLR, but the pictures I captured remained almost same. I have searched a lot online for composition and light, there isn’t much content on these topics when compared to the content on gear.
Really enjoyed the course.
I can’t wait to put these lessons into practice.
Thank you.
Please visit India and do a Photography Workshop here. I would love to meet you.

I have been taking photos for many years and have attended photography trainings earlier. After completing “A Master Class in Photography”, I can confidently say that this is one of the best training on Photography I have ever done. Thank you Mike for putting together such a great course.
Mike’s approach is drastically different and is very refreshing. He shifts the focus from the camera to the skills of the photographer, which is what matters. He has a simple, straight forward, no-nonsense approach in teaching the fundamental concepts / building blocks of photography, which anyone with a little practice can easily make use of to get great looking shots. His energy, enthusiasm, drive and the child like curiosity he shows in the video tutorials amazed me since he has been doing this for ages.
I would strongly suggest this course to anyone who wants to..
1. Learn the fundamentals of photography in a simple straight forward way.
2. Learn only those controls in the camera that matters in taking great images..
3. Learn to use Manual mode effectively..
4. Understand light and use it to create images that you want..
5. Learn the magic of composing great images..
6. Re-discover the joy of photography…
All the best and happy learning…

I really enjoyed this course. I was familiar with some of the information, but Mike did a great job of tying everything together and building on one concept after another so it all clicked. I really enjoy the sections where he goes through the thought process for a given shot, showing you what’s in the viewfinder at the moment. I looked at a few different online courses before selecting this one. Mike’s friendly engaging demeanor made it a lot of fun and held my interest. Heartily recommended.
