ETAP is the most powerful software in the area of Electrical Power systems. Using this software you can design and analyse your power system from the source of power all the way to the loads connected to it.

ETAP offers a suite of fully integrated electrical engineering software solutions including arc flash, load flow, short circuit, transient stability, relay coordination, cable ampacity, optimal power flow, and more.

Having the ability to work with this software will play a key-role for fresh out of school Electrical engineers, as well as those who need to expand their knowledge of power calculations in being awarded internships into top electrical power based companies.

This course is structured into 9 chapters with multiple practical examples after the theory is elaborated. We have created a great course that enables the researchers, engineers, and students to learn ETAP in less than a Week !

Who this course is for:

  • Electrical Engineers
  • Electrical Major Students

    Good
But i expected to find more information about:
1- Data entry for different equipment (Generator, Transformer, … etc) in more specific details using equipment name plate or data sheet.
2- How to organize my project & create different divisions & operation scenarios.
3- The course talked about main function in each study case (The first one or two buttons) but not all options per each study.
4- If this course is merged with technical course it will be more powerful.
    For expample:
The course talked about motor starting analysis to take a only a look on the behavior of my MCC but not talked about how could i use the result of this simulation practically in a real life.

Generally the course could be better.

The course was good. I guess, at the end, there should be a homework project with practical data available which involves load flow, short circuit and protection coordination. The solution to this project is uploaded to the website.

It is a comprehensive course covering Most ETAP features and capabilities but on a high level information not deep in details from Academic perspective

In General, i recommend it for beginners level to qualify trainee into practicing ETAP.

Thanks to Mr. Arian for his effort and looking forward for the advanced course publication

Really good intro to ETAP for first-time users. It covers the main power systems studies (i.e. load flow, short circuit, arc flash, motor starting, cable pulling, and protection device coordination. However, there needs to be sections on transient and harmonic studies added.

It is in general very interesting & very useful course, but it needs some more explanations, for example adding written definitions for some terminologies such as: dynamic Starting, Static Starting & Time Current Curve…etc. In addition, if there is some mini project as a home work (Selective not Mandatory) with a solved tutorial.

I am a recent EE graduate, and I have used Aspen One-Liner to do load flow calculations before, but my new employer wanted me to learn eTap for arc flash studies. I am familiar with modeling one-line diagrams and IEEE 1584, but I really need to learn eTap to make an efficient, accurate, and effective product for our clients. The early lessons in this course are a breeze, the real trick comes later in learning what details to watch for in a practical arc flash study.

Sometimes the Single Line diagram attached to the current-Time curve study needs to be more enlarged /zoomed in to be legible.
