NEWÂ MODULEÂ DUEÂ BYÂ 9th FEBRUARY.
So, you want to edit? Great! You know what they say, you learn by doing! Whatâs even better is you can get the software for free, crazy right? Thereâs never been a better time to knuckle down and get started. This course will take you from the bare essentials; how to set up Da Vinci Resolve and organize your media properly, all the way through to finished edit of a short film including basic audio. But thatâs just the start! Thereâll be regular, free updates with new modules, entirely new projects and lectures every month starting in May 2020.
This course is taught almost entirely hands on, youâll download a full short film and begin working on it immediately. Iâve built this course around professional, practical projects that are taken directly from industry. Every project in this course, and there are more to come, was produced professionally by a team of experienced industry practitioners, on most of which I was an active member on the real project, who have agreed to let me teach with our work. So, you know youâll be working with some great learning content!
Now, this is just the start. This course will, over the coming months, cover subjects such as documentary, corporate and more as new projects are added and whatâs great already only continues to get better. Right now, you can look forward to a second practical project making use of Resolveâs new Cut Panel due to launch in May, and that oneâs a multi award-winner starring an actor who had a limited role in Game of Thrones. After that thereâs an excerpt from an award-winning feature-length documentary, corporate interviews and the possibility of a professionally choreographed martial arts fight scene. So before long this will be a comprehensive editing course sure to give you the ideal foundation for your own career or continued study.
So, go ahead and take a look! Iâve made some key videos free down below so you can make up your mind. I hope to see you on the course soon so we can kick start your postproduction journey together!

It was good to learn how to make with the know-how of the industry, but it is not suitable for trying to imitate while actually moving hands (cutting very quickly, correcting many times, changing suddenly)
And most of them have a long video time, which makes me bored and sleepy.(Google Translate)

I really enjoy the course. The pace is perfect for a beginner but it’s also not too slow so that it’s boring. It is very hands on and I like that we are using actual footage from a film. Thanks for designing such a great course!

This course is so amazing that my only complaints are so minor, they’re hardly worth mentioning (i.e. I wish he would pause for a second and perhaps display the time code for when he’s choosing markers and in and out points, just so I could more easily follow along precisely without having to constantly pause and rewind). This course is more than I was looking for, but EXACTLY what I needed. It might be the best course I’ve bought yet on Udemy. Bravo!

Not your standard ‘quick & fix’ course. Instead it guides you through the procedures, discipline and what an editor is required to do in a professional setting with diverse real life examples to work on.
This course will save you tons of time later on in your projects and definitely makes you a better content creator.

Wonderful course. DON’T SKIP THE MEDIA PANEL… Getting things organized is the most important part. Hoping for a Fusion course at some point.

Really helpful – the organization and amount of content on this course is way better than just watching a bunch of YouTube videos. Great instructor!

I’ve been meaning to sink my teeth into video editing and color grading for quite some time now. As good as some of the other courses were, I noticed that you often had to rely on your own footage, or assets that didn’t make a lot of sense to only mechanically understand what Resolve would function and work as. That isn’t the case here at all.
I really admire the effort behind Matthew’s course here. I’m sure it must have taken a lot of convincing to get permissions for all the takes we’re using. But it’s immensely appreciated. I’m able to learn by practice here, and with good material no less. Excited to get into the second pass of things. It’s been a great journey so far. And here’s to seeing it through with just as much fun! đ

This is probably the best online course I’ve ever done. There is a lot here, it feels like a semester length course in college there is so much. But as you follow along with Matthew editing, you become an editor, seeing how to put video together and make decisions for the best edit. Certainly, I expected to learn the tool and by the end, I was easily using all kinds of keyboard shortcuts and tricks. But I really wanted to try to learn the art of editing and while I can’t say I’m totally there yet, I feel that I can do a serviceable job. And of course experience will help. Thank you Matthew for your surehanded teaching using your dry British wit and exhibiting your professionalism. There were many times when I felt like it was good enough, but you said, “well, not quite, let’s tweak it a little more” and it prodded me to do a more professional job. If you want to learn to edit using Resolve, THIS is the course to take. I can’t wait to start the color grading course next.

Great course, extremely detailed! Learned so much! It took me about 4 weeks to finish so its a bit long if you actually do the exercises. I definitely recommend it!!!

Packed with useful information. Expert delivery. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be better at editing in DaVinci. Wasn’t quite what I was looking for because it focuses on movie editing while I wanted to learn more about trailers and music videos but nevertheless learned a ton. Hope the creator will come out with a course designed for trailers or music videos.

Don’t purchase this course!!!!!!!! I was unable to use the password to download the course content. (wrong Password) I contacted Udemy they were of no help. I contacted instructor who insisted the password worked form but did not offer any assistance or alternative solution.
Total waste of money with no support.
