Of all the photography courses I have taken on udemy.com Ken Schuktz is by far my favorite instructor, he is very intelligent, his courses have excellent audio and video quality, and he does a fantastic job explaining things in depth and so you can understand them, he speaks slowly which allows you to really think about the concepts he is teaching as well as take notes on any key topics you want to look back on. He is an excellent photographer and I highly recommend taking both the Easy DSLR: beginners course and the Easy DSLR: advanced course, if you are new to DSLR cameras, these are the courses to get you started! I am an aspiring photographer who just started my own business and I throughly enjoyed Kens courses, they were excellent recaps on all of the important key points and I love that he teaches everything so well and is so experienced. Thank you Ken! I feel like I am ready to enter into the business world of photography and I just had my first photo shoot last weekend! Thank you!!

Wonderful course! I felt as though Ken was talking directly to me the entire time. I had a question about something in the course and Ken replied very quickly which was fantastic. I’d give this course six stars if I could.

Some of the language he uses is still too advanced. I need very basic small steps. However I need to go through each step and put into practise after watching it all.
Pamela Anderson –
Clear explanations with demonstrations make understanding a new and involved topic much easier.
Trina Graves –
The instructor’s pace is perfect. I’m a visual learner and so far he is teaching visually with great video/photo examples and not just with a lot of lecturing and PDF downloads.

A very good and thorough introduction to DSLR photography. I’ve gone through most this course twice, once when I first got it a few years ago and again now. I wanted to improve my photography, learn more theory/advanced techniques and use my good camera, not just the one in my phone. It would be nice to see an updated course to reflect newer models (namely for the buying guide, now six years old). The rest of the course is still just as relevant today as it was then. Although it would be nice to include a bit more on mirrorless cameras, since that is what I have, though most of what is mentioned for DSLR is still applicable. A great course for beginners wanting to learn photography theory and start to practice it. Can still be a bit overwhelming for newbies, but you can just go back and watch certain parts again, or practice with your own camera. While going through this course, I discovered a few neat things my camera can do! Looking forward to the next (more advanced) course to really develop some good photography skills and build on what I learned here.

It had been around 35 years since last photography using Canon SLR camera. Helped me understand better the relationship between ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Bought new Canon Rebel T6 and was able to shoot some great shots shortly after unboxing camera. The composition section was worth the cost of the course alone. Thanks Ken. See you in advanced course.

Not really a course for an absolute beginner, however with other resourses an absolute beginner will find this course useful. Intermediate users and those with some experience looking to refresh their knowledge will find this course of great benefit. The instructor was a little boring, but his knowledge of photography was engaging. I liked this course which is why I got the advanced one. Great work, four stars.

The instructor is kind of very slow talker, he pauses a lot, yes he knows what is he doing, but he kind of drive me sleepy.
Some lessons where not covered good, looks he got bored or he didn’t know how to deliver the information like some other lessons, specially the flash lessons
Franklin T. McBryde –
There were parts I’m not so clear on. Overall, it’s a great course especially when talking about shutter speeds. I need to test a few of the techniques to see if I really caught on to what he’s teaching
Nick Sibbald –
Clear explanations of the fundamentals of DLSR photography. Very good so far.

Puts things into perspective. Some of it, even for beginner, is pretty basic but a good review.
