That you have foundations in some foreign languages actually means that you should be able to form expressions with basic words on your own and speak them in those languages. This course has been designed to help you have sufficient practice through an organized and systematic approach so that you can form and speak basic Korean expressions on your own.

Build up Korean Foundations through an Organized Practice

  • 56 Lectures, 56 Practices and 56 Quizzes plus Phonics

  • Talking Head & Screen Cast Videos

  • Practice with Only a Few Carefully Selected Words

  • No Dialogue Based

  • Learn from the Two Native Korean Instructors

Practice Makes Perfect

The reason why it’s difficult to build up foundations through the traditional language courses is they mainly focus on the delivery of linguistic knowledge rather than practice. That’s why most people from countries such as Korea, China and Japan don’t speak English well even though they are taught English in public education. This course, therefore, focuses much on organized and systematic practice.

You will learn only a few selected words from this course. Learning too many words in a foundation course is not only frustrating but also unnecessary to beginners. What you need in order to build up foundations in Korean is not the words but a skill to form an expression with a few selected words.

Contents and Overview

This course has been designed to simplify your learning process as much as possible. The goal of this course is to make you form and speak Korean expressions with only a few selected words on your own. You’ll learn how to form Korean expressions with the selected words which include 12 verbs, 5 nouns, 6 pronouns, 6 adjectives, 37 adverbs and 7 conjunctions. After each lecture dealing with grammatical stuff, you’ll practice what you will have learned with Sookie, a Korean native instructor. Then you’ll be given a quiz on the lecture so that you can refresh you memory of what you learned. By the end of this course, you will be able to form and speak most Korean expressions like you speak in English.

Who this course is for:

  • People who want to automatically remember Korean structure, verb and sentence
  • People who wants to tie together much of what they have already learned

If I didn’t already know basic Korean grammar and how to read and write the language, this course would be confusing. Without any prior knowledge of the language, this course isn’t for you. I like the idea of this course but the execution was a bit rough. For people wanting to actually learn the language I wouldn’t recommend this course. In my opinion, this is better suited for people who are just travelling or for business. This course does not teach how to read the characters, sentence particles, or how some characters are pronounced differently than how it is spelt. For example: 있어요 is spelt “itt-eo-yo” but is pronounced “isseoyo”
Little things like that are glossed over, like why characters are pronounced differently in certain words, and in my opinion, those little things are important in learning how to speak the language more naturally.
However, this course does go more in depth on pronunciation than other courses I’ve been in, which is very helpful to new learners. The lectures are very interesting and fun, while also being short. This helps not to overwhelm the student with information and I personally think that makes the experience enjoyable. It doesn’t feel like you’re in a lecture. Both of the instructors are extremely friendly and make the learning experience easy. I like how this course is set up and how they go about teaching their lessons.
Overall, this is by no means a bad course. It is actually a very good one. The way the lessons are set up is, in my opinion, ideal for new learners. However, my suggestion to potential buyers is that if you are trying to seriously learn the language (for whatever reason) this may not be the course for you. If you are looking to learn some phrases for travel or business, I feel as though this is the perfect course for you.

I really enjoy how the sentences are broken down and the instructor builds the language as you would teach children a language. Not by throwing a novel’s worth of words at them, but by structure and foundation first so that words and complexity may come later.

I have had no experience with Korean before, be it speaking or writing.
Mr. Lin and Miss Jung are excellent teachers who make learning the language simple and fun and I’m enjoying learning Korean with them.
The pace is perfect and the content and explanation are spot on! I’m loving it!

Although this course is for beginners, Every beginner must be good in Korean alphabets and should had a reading practice along with basic vocabularies inorder to successfully finish this course. I don’t recommend this course for complete beginners. For me the techings were good enough and course was good overall.

Noticed several spelling errors. It would be nice if at the end of this, there is a big test/quiz for all the sections
