A tremendous amount of time was spent learning the scales instead of simply giving the formula for finding each scale. Not enough time spent on teaching songs and the execution thereof. I took along time for me to generate enough focus to continue. It was really boring…

The thought and detail of this course is unbelievable…..I have been at it for 16 months…….beginning to believe learning piano is a ‘lifetime sport’…..Ozzie is gifted at teaching the basics….(practice is the key)…..then moving on…(more practice is the key)…This course is worth way more than I paid for it………….

The course content is great and will allow you to become a proficient pianist. however some parts of the course are taken at much too higher a pace where the information is fairly complex like on the chord progressions in the last half of the section. I still recommend this course if like me you get stuck on the usual teacher lesson courses.

Having now watched 127 lessons here, I honestly feel it’s a waste of my money. This course is definitely not good for beginners in my opinion. It lacks the requisite support and guided detailed exercises that will assure improvement. I will definitely not recommend this course to beginners if you don’t want to waste your money. Intermediate and Advanced players might see otherwise but beginners – I absolutely didn’t find it helpful. May be because it’s called ‘QuickLessons’, more of a crash course I guess. I jumped at it but now see I’ve wasted my money. I can’t connect most of these concepts in my playing in a meaningful way because although the instructor explains, it is hard to put them into reality without guided detailed step by step exercises that build on one another. My honest opinion!

Teacher is very talented and very knowledgable. But he doesn’t cover in detail important techniques used in the songs he demos during lessons and spends more time showing off his skill instead.

Ozie knows his deal, but I think he suffers from what many call the curse of knowledge (not remembering how it was to be a beginner).

It is not talent what is missing from this course, is pedadogy. Also, it is not clear to whom this course is aimed. After the scales and triads (which take a lot of time to watch) things get really complicated and hearing Ozie’s amazing performance on each video doesn’t help.

Some suggestions. Instead of showing each scale and make people memorize them, show them how to create them from scratch. Same with triads and with the relation between major and minor scales. Give people some assignments. Also, keep it simple, there are too many details in the progressions, which make them hard to follow. On the other hand, some concepts, like the circle of fifths, are poorly explained.

Der Dozent lehrt leider nicht, wie man so spielt wie er. Es wäre notwendig, das Thema Arpeggios schritt für schritt aufzubauen bis man auf seinem Niveau tatsächlich spielen kann.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course and got a lot out of it. I didn’t realize how much I would when I first got it! A few bits of advice for prospective students:
    1. Get the PDF or the printed book. Seriously, no matter how much you paid for this course, you *need* the book. I bought the course and started it, but quickly stopped, because there was just so much to take in visually. I couldn’t hack it. Fast forward a number of months, I got a FB advertisement for a piano course with a book. It seemed interesting and I thought “hey, I recognize that name!” I checked and it was indeed who I thought it was. In the ad he talked about the book. I went back to the course and found that several students mentioned the book in the forum. So I went to look for the book on Amazon and ended up getting the book on PDF, as it follows the course straight down the line. I think it’s fabulous! Very happy with it.
    2. Follow Ozie’s advice on learning, but don’t try to master everything before you go through the entire course. Watch it through once fully while you’re working on the modules. It’ll help motivate you and have some context for the exercises. The little interludes that he does at the start of the modules are great and something that you can go to work on! This an area where the book will come in so handy, as so many of them are included with keyboard diagrams. It’s invaluable to picking it up.

Bottom line: This is a well structured course and has a lot of benefit for those willing to do the work. It’s definitely helped me and served as a source of inspiration.

    Thank you, Ozie! 😀
