- All ages – I once had a 96 year old man who wanting to take lessons. His goal was to learn 5 songs so he could die a happy man. He did exactly that and died a happy man. So if you are telling yourself you are to old, seriously it is never too late.
- For the people that are saying my fingers are too fat, long or long, believe me I have heard all of that but truly believe anyone can play violin if you are willing to put in the work. It takes time to learn the violin. For most people it doesn’t just happen overnight but when things finally start to click it is really fun.
- For any player looking for a change in their instructor. I do believe it is healthy to try something new. Every instructor is going to teach you something different.
- For anyone saying “I have no rhythm or talent” – “You can learn to do anything if you put your mind to it” – that is what my momma used to say and it still holds true today for everybody.

Chuck Millar’s course was exactly what I was looking for in a beginner violin course. Although I know how to read music having had lessons in piano starting at 8 years old moving on to the Trumpet and French Horns in high school concert and marching bands, I had never picked up a stringed instrument much less the violin. So, although naming the strings with fingers 1 through 4 instead of using the open string’s notes to start was simplistic, it was necessary to put the strings with the fingers I needed to play them with. As each lesson builds on the previous one I could stop the lessons and practice until I had mastered the concept. My only regret is that there isn’t another course to follow this one taking me into more depth with scale practice beyond first position and more advanced music notation specific for the violin. Otherwise, I enjoyed the course very much as well as Chuck’s easy going delivery of the course material.

Wow honestly this was a rip off. Course has 156 lessons (and that’s including intros and closings) and 92 of them are backing tracks. Literally MORE THAN HALF of the lessons in this course are backing tracks (stuff you get FREE everywhere online).
Please don’t waste your money on this course.
