This course is masterfully constructed.
This course got me a job as an ETL developer at a major University. I studied all of this course as well as most of his Advanced SQL course and some of his PL/SQL course along with studying Oracle documentation and some other educational sources for about 170 hours before my first interviews and was given an offer from both employers. I went from an elementary school teacher to an ETL developer very quickly mostly due to this course.
I was a teacher professionally for the last 10.5 years. I am therefore equipped to tell that the instructor responsible for this course thought very carefully about at least three things:
1. Using the time spent in each lecture as efficiently as possible.
2. When and where to use features to highlight key information in the presentation.
3. Most importantly, the sequence of the sections as well as the sequence of the lectures in the sections to maximize a systematic building of knowledge from most fundamental to more advanced.
In regards to efficiency in time, the instructor tries to say neither too much nor too little. The instructor is transparent that there are times at which he could say more but he chooses not to due to pedagogical strategy and skill. For example, it is impractical to teach format models for date and number datatypes exhaustively so he informs the student to study the documentation to supplement what he teachers on that topic. However, the instructor does not overuse this pedagogical move. The instructor goes into great detail on many topics even to the point of comprehensively covering all possible situations that may occur when that level of anticipation is practical. It seems like the script of the presentations has been refined through an editing process to make it as efficient as possible.
In regards to highlighting, the instructor uses features of various sorts at key moments showing an incredible ability to empathize with the student – recognizing when a concept is key or hard to understand and therefore needs this sort of highlighting or even restating/review.
In regards to 3, the sequence is masterful. The sequence is created in such a way so that one hardly ever comes across a topic that has not been previously covered in the material. That is, if topic C requires topic B in order to understand it better, the instructor makes sure to place B before C in the sequence. This happens throughout the course.
It is very important to me to notice that this course has a truly great pedagogical mind behind it and that it should be the highest rated course on Udemy for SQL Oracle. With all respect to another instructor on Udemy who has skillfully marketed his course, his course does not deserve to be as highly rated and it absolutely does not deserve to be rated more highly rated that this course. He has achieved such a result not through pedagogical skill but through marketing. His is a less than mediocre course that requires much more supplementation than ‘The Complete Oracle SQL Bootcamp (2022).
The only thing about this course that sometimes give me difficulty is that the instructor’s english is sometimes difficult to understand. He more than makes up for this in being unbelievably responsive in the Q&A which is something that you also will not get in the other course that I mentioned.
Furthermore, though the amount of topics covered by this course is impressive, you actually need to supplement it with over 50% of the lectures in his Advanced SQL course in order to actually cover every topic covered in the Oracle SQL Developer exam 1Z0-071. I recommend using this course alongside Steve O’Hearn’s book which comprehensively covers all of the topics. This course comes close to covering every topic though and, for many, it will be a necessary supplement to O’Hearn’s book due to its mastery of the medium of video instruction. Nevertheless, I wish the instructor was more upfront about the fact that it does not actually cover every topic on exam 1Z0-071.

The concepts are well defined & ellaborated. The more questions should be there in quiz section.

Overall, a very comprehensive and well-delivered course, excellent value for money. I experienced initial difficulties connecting to the HR Schema, but once that was solved I worked alongside the many helpful examples along the way. I did note a change of lecturer/pace from TCL lecture onwards which was not as engaging as all previous lectures. I agree with other reviewers, it is nice to have the quiz at the end, but it would be great to test understanding with a few more practical questions.
I would definitely recommend this course. Well done and thank you.

Since I got a job as ETL developer, it was time to refresh my SQL knowledge. The teacher is clearly experienced, and explains the subjects very clear. He uses edge cases as well as real world examples.
Although the content itself is great, it is the video length that could be better in my opinion. Like splitting up videos that are near the 20minute mark (a part1 and part2). I think 10-12min videos are better to maintain focus. Yes, it gives the sections more videos to watch, but the videos are more compact that way.
Also, I think there could be more quizzes. section 7 is 3hours long with only 5 questions. with lengthy sections, it might be good to introduce mid-section quizzes.
section 4 was perfect. it had a slideshow and quiz.
You don’t have to rerecord videos. Just splitting up videos and adding more quizzes will make it better I think.
I don’t want to critique too much because the video content itself is perfect and perfectly explained. I am learning a lot. I’m also not a teacher. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference I think.
At the end of the day, this course is a great source of information for anyone affiliated with databases :). Thank you!
