Approved by Epic Games and taught by Unreal Engine Evangelist Chris Murphy, this course is for any developer wishing to work in Unreal Engine for creating interactive experiences and/or enterprise fields of real time training simulation, visualization, and media/entertainment. Create realistic games with the complete game development tool –  Unreal Engine 4. Start with the fundamentals so that you build a solid base understanding.

Know the basics of how to operate a computer? Maybe a little bit of game design or coding experience? Visual arts designer? You are ready! Learn step by step by creating 3 unique projects. Chris teaches through demonstrations so you will be applying real skills in each lecture.

Get a complete introduction to core competency with the editor, learn how the engine works and how it works to help make your project run efficiently, how to use assets to customize your project, design and create interactivity, and have the tools and strategies to debug an error.

By the end of this course you can design and create working projects that could include games, architectural visualization, training simulations, and media entertainment. Plus, you will be aware of the tools and techniques that you need to focus on your area of interest.

The content is good but the instructor does not know how to teach. He just does things and makes you follow along instead of giving you a broad overview of what problem you’ll be solving and a logical higher level overview of the steps involved. He just dives in directly and basically narrates what he does. I would not recommend this course to someone starting up. Very disappointed. He also has stopped responding to Q&As.

Excellent tutorials. Very rewarding if you stick with it. Sometimes the pace picks up a bit, so it’s worth it to take lots of notes and look things up if you don’t understand. Also check the Questions area, some users have answers for things that might be outdated (like camera shake) or other oddities that may pop up.

I rarely rate before I finish the course but this course deserves an exception.

First of all, I am a programmer, so my opinion is based on that background. People with different backgrounds may have different views.

This course is amazing. It touches simple and complex subjects and does not change pace at the end, just to get over with the course.

The pace is fast, so the 6h per course would easily be 40 with the usual slow pace of other courses that have you play the video at 2x speed. In fact you will have to pause a lot of times.

To make the most of it, I am sure you have to watch each project more than one times and use that knowledge to expand.

5/5 is not enough. Wish the author of the course makes more like those.

P.S After finishing the survival game section, I still have the same opinion for the course.

One note, you might need to watch it 2-3 times, from start to finish, to understand how all the moving pieces fit together.

Great tutorial, not all screens are the same as unreal 4.26, and the version in this video crashes when I try to use it. Also some values and clicks are way to fast to catch. A lot of pause and rewind to get this information.

I’ve done so many courses. But this guy just breaks it down to the basics, Im talking he explains things that I’ve wondered in the past courses “ok why am I doing this” but here he explains it.

Very nice and detailed explanation. It’s is an old video, most interface are similar and there will be some changes in the upcoming version. Still, I recommend this course to start making your first game from scratch.

Está siendo muy interesante y completo, aunque se hace realmente difícil seguir los videos dedicados a blueprints. Realmente es necesaria una buena base para seguir este curso al 100%. En cualquier caso, es un tutorial muy completo y recomendable

I learned a lot. But a lot of this is outdated and it would be nice to have the code updated to current versions of Unreal Engine. I was lost in several parts because many of the features are outdated and no longer apply.

Really Loving this course so far. The instructor explains everything very plainly and takes into account a beginners perspective

Content is getting outdated for the more modern versions of Unreal Engine 4 (4.27 as of this writing). Some functions are outright deprecated and removed from the current version. Some instructions and critical points are cut in the video, forcing viewers to depend on the comments section to resolve issues and bugs. These were seemingly overlooked but fixed out of frame.

However, the course still provides the critical foundational knowledge of the engine that is still very useful for beginners. The content just needs a bit of an update since it’s getting to nearly 4 years since this was published.

I purchased this course several years ago to learn how to make the Pinball game and decided to go through it even though I have around three years experience with the Unreal Engine. I knew most of what was taught, of course, but I learned quite a few things. I think this would make a great course for someone who is just starting out with Unreal.
